I'm self-taught on the piano, and I've been using it since I was around 5. Nowadays I compose soundtrack/orchestral music. I also used to play the violin but I quit at grade 7. It was the wrong instrument for me.

Halfway through my music degree - I've played piano since I was seven y/o (I keep meaning to do grade eight...I'll get around to it eventually). About two years ago I got into folk music, now I mostly play tenor banjo - also classical guitar, singing, tin whistle, violin (still quite bad), mandolin and a little bit of bass and a little bit of drums (pretty rubbish at the last two).

All but piano is self taught - I was taught classical piano and theory at the same time, theory makes everything easier to learn...provided you know the basics. Composing is easier with even basic theory literacy - I can't over stress the benefits to any would-be composers.

Tbh, I've gone off piano recently. I mostly only jam blues stuff now, rather than full pieces. And I really wish I was better at the violin - I've set up a bedroom studio and my violin playing isn't consistent enough to really record any tracks.

Oh wow, where do I begin? I can play the flute, drums, saxophone, clarinet, trombone and I feel like I have a good singing voice. Oh and don't forget the piano and trumpet!

I've been playing clarinet for about seven years now. I've gotten pretty good at it, and I'm pretty confident in my ability (although I'm not nearly as good as people who take private lessons). I took a solo to contest last year and I wanna say I got a two or a three. So, not bad, but not amazing either.

I played some tenor sax in eight grade jazz band, and I joined the high school jazz band for the first time last semester, playing tenor sax for the first time in four years! I've gotta say, I've improved a lot over the course of the semester. I even took did an improvised solo at our autumn concert (even if it kinda sucked lol).

Last summer I dabbled a little bit in alto sax to prepare for the coming school year, and I even began to self-teach myself a little bit of piano. I'm not very good at it and have some really sluggish fingers.

I play the flute and have been for about six years. I am also trying to teach myself how to play the bass guitar (electric) and piano though those are taking me awhile to learn because of bass clef. I like to play instruments because they can be quite entertaining and can take you away from the world for awhile while you play. I do sing sometimes though with my sister's harsh criticism and hateful comments, I don't really sing as much as I used to. Sometimes I try to compose some music, but I never get to finish doing so because of how busy my life can get. I also have written down some lyrics to songs.

I used to play piano, I started when I was 5 until 12ish. I played the fiddle for 8 years, and I just started to play the guitar.
I stopped playing piano and fiddle (violin) since I think I just got bored, and with the fiddle, there wasn't a lot of new music to play. I want to continue to learn how to play the guitar since I'm still beginner at it.

I played saxophone, clarinet, and piano when I was 6-12. Then mainly piano until I was 14, that's when I decided to start playing guitar. Those are still my main two instruments.

    Sounds like acoustic strings...

To be honest I don't know much about guitar strings yet... just that mine has 3 bass strings which are metal wound and 3 nylon

Violin strings... whole other story :icon_bigg

I haven't been practising this week... tsk tsk... but I have been pre-occupied with work.

I have played guitar since I was 13. I play both acoustic and electric. 5 years ago I picked up on playing the piano and I even have a keyboard. When I was 9 I used to play the trombone, but I gave that up when I was 12.. I just didn't keep the passion for it.

I play clarinet. There isn't a certain type of music I play, just whatever my band director happens to give me, which tends to be a lot of marches.

I used to tinker with my guitar and keyboard, but I haven't in a long time (like 2009 or 2010). I'm thinking about learning how to read sheet music again so I can do video game covers again.

I've played clarinet for almost 6 years, sax for one, and I'm going to be learning bassoon. I am working on my own music, and I'm pretty good at improv for solos.

I'm currently in the process of recording my first album, it's gonna be industrial, most likely aggrotech. I'm also thinking about starting a powernoise project because why not.
so, as you can guess, I use synths, drum machines, sequencers and computers to make my music.

    LOOK OUT! HE'S GOT A BANJO!!!!

I play Viola, Mandolin, and Bass. Self taught on the last two. I'm also learning guitar, but I suck. And yes, I do sing-rather well, I might add. I can play melodies on the piano by ear, and basic chord structure, but I can't get my left hand to play rhythms independently of my right.

I started playing e-bass this year and used to play viol (viola da gamba or something @.@) between 9 and 11.
