Hey - I’m kinda curious - I used to listen to a lot of rap and hip hop, but since developing new feelings about myself I just find that I cannot listen anymore due to homophobic lyrics - I know a LOT of rap isn’t homophobic so it’s possible to avoid a lot of it. This isn’t aimed at you specifically I guess more to anyone who identities as gay and likes rap - I’m curious as to how you deal with that.
Necro is my fave rapper. No contest. Especially the Death Rap album I don't know a lot about Hip Hop & Rap music but sometimes I dig it when it's aggressive Eminem was the first rapper I listened to and I can still enjoy some of his stuff
I'm not a big fan of rap or hip-hop, but there are a small number of songs I like, my favorites being Paper Planes by MIA and Walk This Way by Run-DMC & Aerosmith. I also enjoy some of the 80's/90's upbeat dance/hip-hop songs.
Favorites overall would be Tupac, old Jay Z, old Kanye, Lil Wayne, and old school eminem (personally didn't care for him after Curtain Call). And current new favorites would be like Future, Migos, A$AP Ferg, and Desiigner.
