Do gay guys get erections because of women?

Once I embraced fully my homosexuality I was no longer able to become aroused by a woman period. As time went on the idea of sexual relations with a woman seemed repulsive. I want to forget that “straight” period of my life totally.

I would say that level of arousal by a gay man towards women is very unlikely.

 

I can't tell you for sure what your sexual orientation is, but from what you've written it sounds like you're at least bisexual. I assume you get aroused by men too?

 

I think that for men who have never been with a woman, it is less likely to happen, but not at all impossible.

I think that for men who have been with women, it can happen. It might just happen less and not as intensely as it might when they might be with a man.

It seems like a lot of things factor into arousal. It's partly mental, too. For men, things I've read say that it tends to be more visual than it is for women. How much I've been attracted to who I've been with has an effect on the intensity of the sex and the arousal.

What I think really happens is that if guys start getting into having sex with guys, they move away from situations that would give them access to sex with women. I'm not sure if that's conscious or subconscious. Like I said, for me it's mostly about how much I'm attracted to a potential sex partner and whether or not having sex with someone will lead them on or hurt them when that is NOT what you had meant to do.

 

That's the thing, after they faced the truth rather than trying to force themselves to be straight- it stopped. Suppression is no joke, but you already faced the truth of you being into men

 

I do get aroused a little by pro women body builders. The more masculine they look the better

 

Speaking from my own experience, I never get an erection looking at pictures of women anymore and fantasising about sex with them doesn’t work either. That’s just me though and everyone is different with this stuff it seems.

 

Early on I was able to get an erection from a woman however as I embraced my homosexuality more openly the desire disappeared and shortly there after the ability to become aroused. Now, not possible to gain an erection from a woman. Frankly the idea now seems totally gross.

 

I used to get erections from looking at girls until I discovered my attraction for men. Now I never do.

 

Interesting to read how people transition. I guess it's similar to people that first identify as bisexual and then become exclusively gay.

 

Yes, some people do. When I think of this occurring, the one famous person that comes to mind is Elton John.

 

It was always quite an effort for me to get aroused looking at women and I struggled with it for years. After I discovered what happened when I let my mind think about men sexually I no longer had a problem. I honestly didn’t know there was any attraction to men for a really long time.

 

That's very similar to what I'm currently going through. Its feels like an effort to get aroused by women. Allowing myself to accept that men turn me on is hard in the real world. No such problems in private.
