So I think I posted this before.. but I was questioning back then. I now know for a fact that I am a lesbian. The more I think about it, honestly the more it makes sense. What would be the next steps to coming out after realization to self? Do I go on dates? Where do I find dates? Do I tell family and friends first? I know there’s no real rule. Just would like some input from different people. I hate dating apps, but if that’s the only way then I’ll do it. Any opinions appreciated, thanks!

Hey congratulations on figuring everything out. You are right there is no set path your journey has to take. Some people date and only tell people when they have a girlfriend, some people tell friends first, some people tell family first. For me it is all about what feels right for you.
If you want to try and date but don’t fancy dating apps then my advice would be to try and find some kind of LGBT or lesbian meet up group, either one that just socialises or one that you have a hobby in common with, so a cinema group, or a walking group or a craft group depending on what you are interested in.
If you want to tell someone then I think it’s at important to decide who you would want to tell first, pick someone that you are confident would be supportive and not tell anyone else unless you want them to and then take it from there.

Thank you for your response! How would you find a group like that? That’s the trouble I’m currently having

Well that’s not easy. I know there are sometimes groups like that on the website called meet-up.com but you would have to see where you live. Otherwise any lgbt centres near you?
