I’m a big synthwave fan as well. I got to see The Midnight live about a month ago, my first in person concert since the start of the pandemic. They are my favorite band, but it was just awesome being able to share space with them again!
Metal, particularly djent and sludge. Hip hop, particularly by Dutch artists. And some electronic music, particularly industrial.
My definite favourite is Eluveitie but I also like Finntroll and Nightcreepers. If you want a specific song I'd recommend Epona by Eluveitie!
I actually have a very wide range of preferences ranging from : Lorde, Avicii, Kesha, The Chainsmokers, Sia, Lady Gaga, Ed Sheeran, Jessie J, Ariane Grande, Beyoncè, Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus, Olivia Rodrigo, Billie Eilish, Adele, Dua Lipa, Jennifer Lopez, Selena Gomez, Mariah Carey, Bruno Mars, The Weeknd, Halsey, Anne-Marie etc, to Elton John, Prince, Madonna, Whitney Houston, Stevie Wonder, Spice Girls, David Bowie, Elvis Presley, Frank Sinatra, Queen etc, to Led Zepplin, AC/DC, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Guns N Roses, Aerosmith, Nirvana, U2, Black Sabbath, Eagles, Fleetwood Mac, Bon Jovi etc, to Chopin, Beethoven, Vivaldi, Tchaikovsky, Bach, Mozart, Verdi, Wagner, Debussy, Schumann, Stravinsky etc. So as you can see xD, I would say I don't really gave a favourite genre, I'm quite the mix lol-
I like a range of genres too, it's kind of hard to pick just one. But generally I'm drawn to pop, alt-rock and indie stuff the most. And I have a soft spot for songs from the 80s and 90s, mostly because that's the era of music my parents played the most when I was a kid.
I primarily listen to metal music in all its forms, but there's at least one song or artist I like in just about every genre (even pop-country, and I despise most pop-country). Lately I've been listening to a lot of Emlyn, a smaller pop artist my partner introduced me to.
I go through phases of listening to just about everything. Spotify is very confused by my actions. I'll get obsessed with an artist for a month and then move off them. I think punk rock is my favorite genre but not so much because I listen to more of it as much as I keep returning to it.
although I can be a total fuss about it, depending on my mood, I am up for everything. However, my top choices would be rnb, alternative rock and mainstream pop
Heavy metal, rock, hard rock and alternative. Think Disturbed, Evanescence, 3 Doors Down, Rammestein, and Nightwish for example. Pretty much every other genre does not compute with my brain or my ears.
I used to be a big fan of GNR, my dad played their albums all the time when I was a kid. I once went to a fancy dress party in this outfit and no-one knew who I was meant to be . Nice to hear someone else is a fan.
Funnily enough, just like Wanderlost said, the music that I listen to is totally random, and mostly relies on what the confused spotify throws at me in the evenings. As a general rule, if it sounds good enough, I will listen to it, regardless of genre. Then starts the vicious cycle of heavily over-listening to the song for a few days... then proceeding to dump it from all of my playlists, never to be listened to again. For example, I'm in the middle of listening to a moon shaped pool, and can already feel myself hating the monotone drones that felt like the pinnacle of music two days ago. My brain is a weird place...
