I believe it's only unhealthy if you bring eachother down more, or start to use your shared depression and negativity as proof that there's no way out of it. It can be a good thing if you feel less alone in your thoughts then that is, itself, a positive. But if you can learn from eachother, than it is good..

Depends on the relationship dynamic I suppose. Maybe the perspective too. Whether or not you're willing to challenge the other person's way of thinking

    Hope that makes sense

@Gleek99 Thank you, that's what I figured. I'm sure I do both so it's good to be aware.

Hi there! If you would like, feel free to send me a PM, letting me know where you live in the United Kingdom. I can try helping you in perhaps identifying councellors or psychologists in your area that might offer appointment on a sliding scale.

Reading over your responses, I have the feeling you are going in circles, and continuing to speak with a counsellor could help in getting out of that circle.

Ask yourself, 'what do I need to do, to work on the things that will allow me to turn the corner and lead the life, I want to lead.' You have it within yourself to place yourself first, and to take care of your needs.

Keep in mind that negative thoughts, can lead to more negative thoughts. Negative thoughts, or thoughts that lead us to feel down on ourselves are very good at taking a hold.
