I just got done reading "Red, White & Royal Blue" by Casey McQuiston from Amaazon Kindle. It's about a relationship between the First Son of the United States and the Prince of England.

It's really good and a fast read.

A few months ago I read "The Lesbiana's Guide to Catholic School" by Sonora Reyes. It was quite predictable but a really nice read nonetheless. It has lesbian, bisexual and gay characters, and is about being closeted, growing up gay in a conservative religious environment, as well as racism and mental health. The highlight of this book are the hilarious titles of chapters.

I need help identifying a book I read. The plot is a small town high school is planning a reunion. They send invitations every time to a woman who never come. When she was there she was bullied. Plus her mom doesn’t approve of her. She is now a college professor and she is dating a tv star who was once her student. Her high school love broke her heart and is now married to a local police man who bullied the professor in high school. To complicate things we find out that the college professor’s brother got the high school love interest pregnant and the daughter looks just like the professor.

Also, the interactions between her current love’s father who is a retired general are very funny. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The Internet Archive's Open Library has a lot of free books for temporary download, if anyone's interested. You just have to make a free account. Some interesting out-of-print books I found on there:

Entries From A Hot Pink Notebook by Todd D. Brown- really captures the feel of being a closeted gay kid in a small rural town who also has a very dysfunctional alcoholic family. Sad in some parts, but also some hilarious one-liners and the ending does have some hope.

Eight Seconds by Jean Ferris- another older book which would probably be labeled as YA nowadays but still readable for adults and still relevant despite its age. Also had some nice prose and descriptions of the setting. I wish this kind of book had been more visibly available in my local library growing up.

The Living One by Lewis Gannett- it's really more of a gothic horror/vampire story, but this is another hard-to-find out-of-print book that's now available online as a free read on OpenLibrary.org. Very over-the-top and florid, but interesting, and it's always nice to read a book with gay characters that's about more than just their sexual orientation.
