I get excited when I can celebrate little victories during this journey. Today, I stopped by the bookstore and while I was there, I browsed the table celebrating pride. Before I would have been look around to make sure no one could see me or do a walk by browsing. When someone else started browsing the table, I continued calmly browsing where before I would have scurried off. I know it is a small thing but I also bought a bookmark that said "Read With Pride". It felt so symbolic to me.

Love it, so happy to hear!

I'm getting flashbacks to all the time it used to take me to shop.. walk by a display, glance at it, quickly walk by AGAIN, pluck a book, read the back cover elsewhere, rinse and repeat.. oh lord!

Thank you for celebrating your victories with us all!!

bsg75apollo I disagree with your statement, "I know it is a small thing" Buying anything gay like this is a BIG THING.

Thanks for sharing. Every step counts. I once actually asked the bookshop assistant about the new books in lgbtq section. I bought a couple. I went to pride once, also to some bars. Sometimes I can be bold. Other times not so much. I know what’s holding me back and its very complicated. I can’t find a compromise between the life I have now and the one I want to have.
