I had my therapy appointment today. I had been waffling about saying anything, but the perfect opportunity came up, so I came out to my therapist. That feels really weird to say. It is also was the first time I have ever said it out loud to another person.
I'm glad you found the right time to come out and that you were able to do it on your own terms! Best wishes.
That's wonderful news! I'm glad you were able to tell your therapist; once you've told even just one person, the weight becomes so much less. How did he/she respond?
Maybe with a little bit of surprise, but he knew that I was holding back. A lot of supportive therapist type talk. Asked more questions to which I surprisingly volunteered a lot. And ended with saying that he felt honored that I shared it with him.
That's great! I'm glad he was receptive and willing to let you talk about it at length, and I hope it helps you to further become comfortable on your journey.
