Hi Friends, I have a topic to discuss with you all. Are messenger bags out of fashion (or out of trend) today? Are messenger bags still popular among teens nowadays? Messenger bags were a big trend back in the 2005 - 2009 period ( when I was a teenager back then). I remembered saving up money eagerly so that I could buy one. (It was quite expensive back then). But not sure if it is still popular nowadays.
That's a good question. I have several (gay) friends in their 20s that still use them, but they have always balanced practicality with fashion sense. So they dress smartly and fashionably, but also balance that with what makes their lives work more easily. I have no idea what the current fashion sense actually says about them. (Spoken by someone who has, for probably 10+ years, carried his phone on a belt clip, even though this has *never* been a fashion statement and would usually be regarded otherwise.)
If I ever finally get to live how I would like I might get a brown leather one (or a backpack). I'd like to think I'm at least decently fashionable, but who knows?
I don't think they are as trendy as they once were. I have a brown leathery one I carry all my stuff to work in, and I love it
Even if they aren't fashionable now I imagine they would still be quite useful with all that available space to hold things when you're on the go.
I love a messenger bag! I carry one to work everyday. In fact, had a navy one and the zip broke recently… I was devastated! Straight back online and replaced the navy one with a grey one!
I'm so glad I'm old! I have no idea what's fashionable, and it never even occurred to me that bags would be fashionable or not! A messenger bag style is pretty practical, so I like them.
Around my town, there are still plenty of people who carry messenger bags. Most of them are carrying mid-higher end designer brands. I used to carry a messenger daily when I was back in high school. Nowadays, I find myself carrying more of a briefcase style bag with a shoulder strap.
Ngl, I think they look really cool. Plus they have a lot of room. I hardly see them, but ik I love the style
