What’s your unpopular opinion?

I agree, but even then trouble can happen. When my little sister was 8 her class was going to do a project on wrens( the bird). They looked it up on the parent locked computers at school and ended up on a kiddie porn site. It was reported obviously but where is it more strictly controlled than a school.

My unpopular opinion is that people should be honest if they don’t like gifts. I hate faking appreciation for things I hate. I’d rather be honest about hating a gift than coming up with a reason it’s never worn or used. If someone hated something I got them, I want to know so I can avoid it next time.

 

I like carpeting. It seems to be way less popular now.

I like it because I like walking around barefoot in my house at any time of year.

Yes! To add to this, normalise reactions that aren't overtly cheerful or enthusiastic. I'm not a naturally enthusiastic person, even if I really like a gift. Christmas is a bit of pain because I have to practice my reactions. I don't want to cause hurt by using the wrong tone or not enough tone or not smiling enough or smiling too much it's just ugh. Frankly it's tiring. I'd rather people just believe me or I could briefly state the reasons I like the gift (which is sometimes an option) instead of being so occupied with how my thank yous sound. Sure, I'm not jumping for joy, but that doesn't mean I'm not happy with it.

 

I don't think pets should be allowed in retail stores, unless they're service animals or registered ESAs (emotional support animals). People need to be mindful of those who have cat or dog allergies. Plus, it would be gross if they have an accident on the floor and were not properly trained to only go outside.

 

All I want for Christmas by wailing Mariah Carey is a complete turn off.

 

I sometimes wonder if there's any connection between smoking and jumping into the sack more quickly. I've seen it with some people I know. Maybe that's partly what you're seeing.

 

Being an introvert and being happy in your own company is not a bad thing. Enjoying the quiet is also not bad.Just because I want to be alone does not mean something is wrong. If you’re wondering what I’m thinking about I’m picturing you taking a running jump off a cliff and leaving me alone. I also wish a certain someone would get right back on the plane they got off of. Certain people are loud people and I hate loud people. I did get a certain sense of satisfaction that despite my mother roaring hey Google it listened when I asked it to play shut up as I left the room.

Can't remember if I've said it before - Current mainstream country music isn't that bad. It's watered down enough that it isn't as twangy as it used to be (or vs lesser known artists). Sure it can be generic, but no less so than mainstream pop

 

I don't know if it's even worth trying having a relationship with someone who has very different political views, let alone a friendship.
