Hi there, I'm new here. I used to be on a different lgbt forum but then some difficult circumstances happened to me- so now I'm on this one.
Well I'm a 20 y/o bi trans guy in the rural south, trying to get out of this area. I outed myself to my parents and siblings at 18 on accident and life has been a rollercoaster since. I got trapped in my parents house in December of 2019 after spiraling in college because of afforementioned events. I currently have a girlfriend who I love very much (we're each other's biggest secret basically), and what few friends I have are like family. I'm a guitarist by trade, but work in retail and might go to school for UX Design. Something has to pay for my transition, because my insurance and parents won't. Anyway, that's the run down of me.
Jack.....Hello and a great big LGBTQIA+ welcome to Empty Closets! There is a sub-forum here titled “Gender Identity and Expression” if you post there I think you’ll find people who will understand what you are dealing with. This is a community of loving, caring and very supportive people and we will do our best to help you blend into the community. You can ask questions in any of the Sub-forums by creating a new thread or by joining in a conversation-thread that is already going. You can also post a message on anyone's Profile Page after you have made at least ten posts yourself. If you have a question that is somewhat private you can always send a Private Message to any Staff Member. Normally Private Messages can only be exchanged between two Full Members, but a PM to a Staff Member is an exception. We are so glad that you have found us here on Empty Closets! .....David
Thank you! I honestly want to be out but it wouldn't be wise for me to be out publicly at the moment- not here anyway. At least I can find support here though, which will be nice for a change.
Also, Jake, I'm not ignoring you I just unlocked the ability to reply to that and don't quite know how it works yet lol. Sorry!
Welcome to EC! Glad ya found the site, I know form wxperiance the Rural areas can be a challange, keep your chin up we are all here for ya!
Thank you! Yeah growing up here in the countryside was a struggle, sometimes it still is. Makes my blood boil and sad all at the same time when I hear homophobic or transphobic remarks but I can't do anything. It's nice to know I'm not alone though.
