It made me think about the idea that men can’t show emotions. They’re supposed to keep all those feelings hidden away inside of them instead. I often struggle with letting my negative emotions overpower my positive emotions, and I don’t always let the people who care about me know about it so they can help me. If someone forced this idea onto me my mental health would be far worse. All of us go through many ups and downs in our lives. We should be allowed to express the appropriate emotions in those moments too.

I agree that there’s an issue with masculine stereotypes and the idea that men shouldn’t show emotions, which is harmful. Of course, showing emotion is associated with weakness, and therefore it’s seen as more acceptable in women. So, I would suggest that the link between showing emotion and weakness needs to be broken, as well as the stereotypes attached to both genders.

Well, I would say it isn't a pressure, I often struggle with expressing feelings even though I had all the encouragement and sometimes even negative feedback that I'm not warm enough for others.

I prefer to keep my feelings/emotions to myself because of privacy reasons. I don't feel the need to divulge whatever problems are going on in my life to others.

I'm glad my article helped. Hope I didn't give out any misinformation.

I wouldn't say you did. It just seems there is a lot of unfair expectations put on men and women for how they can act or dress. I understand for everyone that's a personal decision, but I also stand against the idea you should force something harmful onto someone if it will make them uncomfortable.
