I just watched The Prom on Netflix. Super catchy music, great cast and a good plot.

One of my favorites is Kiss Me.
    Better Than Chocolate
is like a right of passage in my mind. If you haven't seen it it's worth the many moments of uncomfortable awkwardness.

I recently saw "Sublet." The reviews were good, but not great. I thought it was good, but not great.

I liked the on location scenery. I couldn't connect to the film all that much and didn't find the interactions all that credible. The reviewers of the film said the same thing - that they really wanted to plug into the film but couldn't.

    It's worth a look.

One of my favourites is The Adventures of Pricilla, Queen of the Desert. Also it has Guy Pearce so I'm pretty chill with that

I plan on watching Bit starring Nicole Maines. A transgender teen girl on summer vacation in Los Angeles fights to survive after she falls in with four queer feminist vampires, who try to rid the city's streets of predatory men.

I am sorry that I can't provide any specific titles or actors. However, if you want to watch LGBT themed movies that provide a different perspective from what is usually available search for LGBT movies on Netflix. In particular I look for movies made in India. I have been impressed with the storylines and what being LGBT is like there. They are sensitively made, explore some interesting themes about families, and are pretty blunt about discrimination. I watched a movie recently focused on a trans woman and it was very moving - had a nice ending and everyone was in love and happy. That was a relief given the emotions presented in most of the movie.

The unfortunate consequence to watching a lot of Hindi movies (gay and otherwise) is that the Netflix algorithm started suggesting only Hindi movies and no English program were recommended. I had to make an effort to watch a balance of movies in different languages so that that doesn't happen again.

BTW I read the subtitles - I am a fast reader and only speak and write English.

The other people is good, it's on Netflix it has Molly Shannon in it I forget who the male actor that plays her characters son's name is though, it's good and sad all at once if you cry easily I recommend getting tissues it is pretty sad, The prom is pretty good as well Love, Simon is good also, If you have any recommendations for anymore LGBT movies let me know and I will see if I can watch them, I love to watch new movies I haven't seen before.

I have some oldies and the some more recent ones....
My Own Private Idaho is one of my favourites, Keanu and River are heartbreaking in it. Mulholland Drive is sexy and weird and cool.
I absolutely loved Call me by your Name and Portrait of a Lady on Fire last year. And cried at them both!
I loved the Miseducation of Cameron Post. I came from a similar evangelical background so that struck a chord with me. Love the rebelliousness and hope and humanity of this film.

I really want to see Carol soon. Totally going with loads of the recommendations here ..

Not sure if this counts but it has a lot of gay/queer themes, Revolutionary Girl Utenta and its movie, Adolescene of Utena. I'd recommend watching both if you haven't already. Buffy the Vampire Slayer has some queer themes in later themes as well.

Probably my favorite is Beautiful Thing. More recently we really enjoyed Bros, and since I'm a horror fan I quite enjoyed Knock at the Cabin. I really like the original Boys in the Band. I really tried to like the remake (great cast) but something about updating the play just made it seem all the more dated. I'm sure I'll eventually give it another try as I so love the play.

I recently watched The Miseducation of Cameron Post, too, and really enjoyed it. A great ending, though I now need to see a sequel to see how they got on! (I realize this isn't likely to happen as it was from a book, I think I'll add that to my TBR pile.)
