If you could study/do anything what would it be?

    If you could study or do anything like job wise, or anything ... what would you do?
    Just figured this could be a good way for everyone to get to know eachother's interests etc.

    What I would do is...
    I would definitely study Performing Arts and if I wasn't so unconfident and anxious AF and uncordinated I would definitely want to be a triple threat-.... Actor, singer and dancer.

    And also I'd love to work with or just help people with learning and physical difficulties/ dissabilities and/or mh issues.

    Lol, sorry, ambitious much (I am).

    Let me know what you would do...

    I would go and study animation. I am a creative person and this profession has always intrigued me, but I am not confident, that I am good enough at art to do that. It’s good to be ambitious.

    Aw that's a great dream. What kind of animation would you study? I remember when I was younger I used to try to make little stop motion videos on my camera.
    I feel like I am a creative person too but I totally agree about the not feeling confident enough that you're good at something ... I'm sure you are good though. But I do understand, I quite often doubt myself that I am not a strong enough singer and definitely sure I am not strong enough with acting and dancing. And I am just very shy and unconfident. But we all have to start somewhere right, and I'm sure we'll get there- yourself included. :slight_smile:

    Screenwriting. I have the industry standard software final draft and self taught myself the format etc and have studied using multiple books. I have completed a short film, pilot, half a pilot(which I will get back to in a few months) etc I also started an lgbt themed script.

    I do like all kind of animations. I do not have a specific favourite style. Stop motion is cool, but I also like the traditional 2D style or 3D. I am also very shy. Someday. I would also like to be a better singer, but I can’t even sing on key . I hope you get more confidence to follow your dream too.

    I would like to either be a counsellor or a horse groom. I love being outdoors with horses, I could spend all day with them, grooming them or feeding them. They listen to all your secrets and never tell :blush:

    I would go a step further and say to all members, no matter their age, that they can pursue their dreams. A 'can do' attitude is important. Admittedly, you may encounter hurdles along the way and you may need to dig deep and work very hard to get to where you want to be, but don't ever allow anyone to tell you that you cannot or will not achieve something. Too many people within the LGBT+ community receive and absorb negative messages like these, about the supposed impediment of our sexuality or gender identity and it's bullshit. We are actually high achievers.

    One of the most offensive messages I ever heard in relation to my sexuality is that I would be nothing in life. With no wife/kids/family, I would have no future, nothing to look forward to and nothing to pass on or contribute. In the first instance I was incredibly hurt by that message, but the remarks also lit a fire within me that still burns. Damn it, if I want something in life now, I will stop at nothing to achieve it. Nobody writes me off and nobody should write anyone of us off. If you want something in life, go out and get it.

    As much as it's hard and really shit hearing negativity, I guess in a way it helps us thrive and achieve.

    There is a little saying I know, 'what doesn't kill you makes you stronger.'

    And another one; 'if you believe, you can achieve.'

    And I think, especially the second one, I think those statements are very true.
