Hi, I'm Billy and I'm a trans guy. Or at least I'm pretty sure I am. I've known for a while that I'm not a girl and have tried a few different nonbinary labels but none of them felt right. To be honest I've been avoiding the sentence "I am male" since...well middle school probably. I joined this forum to kind of experiment with a male name and pronouns before I come out to anyone in the real world. I also enjoy meeting other people in the lgbtq community as they are some of the nicest people on earth. A few facts about me: I enjoy writing and English so much that I'm majoring in those things at college. I collect old comic books, my favorite series being Jughead. I also collect Nancy Drew books because she's awesome (may have had a tiny crush on her in middle school). Right now I'm thinking about adopting a dog because there are so many who could use a good home and I could use some company (living alone is hard). So yeah, that's a quick intro to Billy Ray. Oh! One last thing, I didn't pick the name Billy Ray because of Billy Ray Cyrus (though ironically my mom says his song "achy breaky heart" was my favorite as a toddler). I picked it because those are the middle names of two family members who I look up to and strive to be like.
Hello Billy! EC is a great place to be yourself and talk with others going through similar life events. If you haven't already, check out "Gender Identity and Expression" subforum. I hope your studies are going well during the pandemic! Writing and English seems to be good fits for remote learning.
