When I registered in this site, At first, I asked my friend (who had showed me EC himself) to write the things I wanted to post in English for me.) He left me and many other mutual friends without saying goodbye long time ago. I think this website is the only place he can find me (the forum we used to post with each other is closed) if someday he wants to.

Native speaker, estimated 30,300 words. I do read a lot, though, so my vocabulary is fairly decent.

I'm not a native speaker. I studied(-ish) English at school, but I started to understand the language years later because of reading/watching things in English. But I still do several mistakes.

Interesting, as it's fairly close to my number. For me, It's been like 7 years that I've been self-learning it seriously. I'm 30 now.
Give me a little more information. How did you learn English? How many years approximately?

Have you had English-speakers around you? Or maybe you have lived in some English speaking countries?

In my country you have to study English every year to the end of high school. Usually is like 2 or 3 hours a week for... 13 years actually. But the English class level is very, very low so even if it seems a lot of time, you'd be lucky if you end with a B1 after those years.

We have English classes in the schools too (not that much, like 1 hour a week). But that's beyond low quality anyway. I don't count them as studying English. Just very essentials, nothing really.
A few years ago they decided to ban teaching of English to kids in private kindergartens and public primary schools. :face_palm:

My approximate vocabulary is 24,000 words. According to another test or survey I did for my recently completed English course, my estimated vocabulary is about 19 500 words.
