So, I have been out on the road a little over a week. My boyfriend who works at a hospital doing mental health started to get sick on Friday. He said he was congested, and had lost his sense of taste and smell. So, I suggested he do the state online test to see if he should get tested. It directed him to go to a site on Monday morning. He got his brain swabbed. This Evening around 5pm he called me to tell me he had tested positive for COVID. He has a healthcare provider to contact tomorrow but based on his symptoms he is to self quarantine and if his symptoms improve by Monday he can go back to work then. I am still in shock because we face time and his symptoms are so mild. I am concerned that it is a possibility I may have been exposed Halloween weekend to it when I was home to see him last but I have none of the symptoms and the CDC tests recommends that I don’t have a test and just continue to self monitor at this time. I so I’m staying out on the road until thanksgiving unless symptoms start. I guess the shock of it all, I just needed an outlet and thought I’d share. good point if you have mild symptoms it could still be the real deal. Don’t just assume.
I hope that your boyfriends symptoms stay mild, it does for most people who get it. I also hope that you also stay healthy.
Hey I can totally understand your shock and you would be concerned. At least it has been a bit of time since you saw your boyfriend. That doesnt mean there is no chance but there is also a good chance you dont have it. THis is one of the biggest issues with this virus, the symptoms can range in severity from absolutely nothing in some people to really severe in others. Which means people can unknowingly be spreading it. Fingers crossed you will both be fine.
Sorry to hear/read that your boyfriend tested positive for Covid19. Hopefully his symptoms will remain mild and that you don't develop symptoms or need to do anything more than self-monitoring. It's good you are keeping your distances from others until you have past the required time period to know that the chance of you having it, or potentially being able to spread it, has gone. Hopefully things will turn out to be fine for the both of you.
The virus trends are cleary on the rebound. My partner and i have made it a practice to get tested for Covid regularly. But with this most recent uptick, we are hearing more and more people we know becoming infected. What find interesting is hearing from people whom seem to be taking significant precautions. And as I read more research suggesting even staying inside can be a risk I am starting to wonder if this is truly out of our hands until a vaccine is approved. Be safe everyone!
Just get tested. To be on the safe side. A family member of mine passed away from it. The person that had it initially infected three hundred people by way of contact. This person went to a birthday party and a funeral and it spread from there. My aunt got tested positive, she passed three or four days later. So be on the safe side and get tested as well. And wear a mask.
A while since this was posted so just wanted to know if you and your boyfriend are ok. Hope you guys are
Yeah, all is good in our ‘hood. He recovered well in about 12 days. His symptoms stayed very mild. Cough, sore throat and the sniffles. That was about it. As far as I know I still haven’t had it. Thanks for asking!!
