I am curious, is this a real phonomenon or just something I made up? Lately I was insecure about my relationship with girls. So to make sure I decided to watch lesbian porn. I noticed I got hard, but it didn't seem as I was actually horny. As if I was horny only physically and not psyhically... Is this is a real thing? Do straight guys exprience same when they watch gay porn?? Is this a natural body response (with any kind of sexual activity)?
It is absolutely possible to be aroused physically without being really interested in someone psychically (I think that is what you mean) by which I assume you mean that you are really interested in a relationship or in sex with said person. (I have a TED talk video which can answer this but before I can post it I need to check with admins). Porn is by design exciting so reacting to it is natural, I personally do not think that what porn a person is interested in demonstrates anything certain about their orientation.
I just found out that linking directly to TED talks is ok, here is the talk I was speaking of https://www.ted.com/talks/emily_nag...ad&utm_medium=referral&utm_source=tedcomshare
First, QuietPeace, thank you for the link. The TED Talk was great and very important. Second, Lovri, I too have experienced "arousal nonconcordance" when I've seen lesbian porn incidentally. The first time I saw it, I was confused, but I rationalized that I was responding to the pleasure of the performers, and I never sought out lesbian porn. Luckily, I didn't question my orientation.
