That book was published almost 30 years after I came out to my parents so there is no way it would have helped at the time. #2 had I tried to put something out like that I just would have been kicked out of the house (as I was when I came out, fortunately only on a visit so I had a home to return to)

My mom came out as gay when I was 21 (and questioning my own sexuality). A few years ago, she started dating a man, so I guess she's bisexual. I still live in limbo lane, where I'm pretty sure Im gay but too terrified to go any further with that knowledge. My cousin on my dad's side is gay as well.

A friend of the family; they have 3 daughters: 2 are lesbian and one is bisexual.

Sounds like he's leaning gay. Just theorizing.

I've often pondered the total human suffering due to homophobia - lets say the last 200 years. Loneliness and never having the feeling there is someone in one's life that cares about you. I've often said to myself, this is an abstract form of genocide for it locks a person in their own brain. (I lack the vocabulary to say what I want to say, but hopefully you get the idea.)

I get the idea - from my thinking and from the thoughts of friends and from what I read, and I try to read about a lot of things.

My oldest brother , I believe was gay, my sister who said she’s straight but slept with women. I believe two of my cousins are lesbian. Which is why I don’t understand why I was so worried and scared to be me. Lol ,

My sister is a lesbian and out, but there might be more. A cousin that everyone thinks is gay. He has a strong gay vibe. An uncle and an aunt who neither have been in a known relationship in 20 years. They are both are sociable and attractive people who get out and about. Just no explanation of why they have never brought a special someone around. Another aunt who has been living with another women for decades.

It seems like there is an unwritten rule of not taking about LGBT stuff in the family.
