Since dance is a guilty pleasure of mine, let's chat about it. How is your ability on a scale of 1-10? I've always wondered if the idea that gay men are better dancers than straight men is true.
Growing up, I tried out various forms of dance- ballet, tap, modern and street / freestyle. I am absolutely terrible at tap dancing. Back when I took lessons for it, we would have performances and I wasn't allowed on the stage. I had to stand behind a curtain whilst the others performed, I'm not sure why I even bothered showing up. (This only happened with tap, I was allowed on stage when doing other forms of dance). Anyway, I think I'm in the "mediocre but slightly better than you might expect" category. I'm nowhere near professional, but I've been told that I'm good. Usually my movement is somewhat restricted though because I'm self-conscious. So, I guess... decent? Or maybe just mediocre. Eh.
White (gay) men are the only ones who can put all others to shame. Funny how that works As for me, *cries in Latin
If the music is really good, I can attempt to move to it somehow. Unfortunately it ends up looking too funny.
I said decent but I've been told I'm better than that. My husband was actually a professional so my bar is a little high.
It depends what type of dancing. Professional stuff like ballet or salsa or whatever...no...not my thing. Breakin it down in the club though....
I dance pretty well so ive been told.... not a lot of people know that XP I learned salsa, merengue, cumbia and bachata, and also learned hip hop freestyle
In terms of actual types of dances or skill, probably awful. Impaired? I've been told I'm better than expected lol
I'm so bad at dancing that when I was at a nightclub with some friends a year ago, I would just wiggle my legs and sway around a little bit. Thankfully I was particularly intoxicated so didn't care all too much. However, the thought of me doing it now is rather embarrassing.
I did Irish dancing in England for years when I was a kid. When we moved to Ireland we couldn’t find another dance class. It wasn’t too inventive you had to stand straight with your arms by your side and only move your legs. I think Riverdance misled a lot of people. I don’t dance now. Occasionally if I’m alone I’ll move various parts of my body to music but I wouldn’t call it dancing.
