This is for the guys too... do you wear make up and/or nail polish? If you do, what do you use and is it for fashion or concealment?

No, not for a long time anyway. I tried make up once when I was about 13, which wasn’t particularly successful, but other than that I’ve never had much interest. I have painted my nails more regularly, with clear nail varnish, but that was more because they kept breaking.

I paint my nails on a regular basis. I typically do pink, but sometimes purple. I've never done any makeup yet. I might in the near future try eye shadow and/or lipstick.

No makeup or polish, but I have considered getting manicures/pedicures in the past but have not had either done yet. However, I'd probably get clear polish. Colored polish is one hurdle I haven't been able to jump over mentally yet. What I mean is, to me colored polish is for womens nails and it still weirds me out when guys get any other polish color besides clear. I'm working on trying to get out of that outdated mindset but its hard.

Omg, I've wanted to get a fish pedi for the longest time lol. I was so sad when I found out they are banned here for hygiene reasons :frowning2:

Highly recommend, it's fantastic. I thought it would be weird but no it's actually pretty great. There are multiple 40+ year old dudes there too usually when I go so I feel less self-conscious about it. I got the clear nail polish thing by accident once because the lady didn't speak English, and not gonna lie it was cool having shiny nails for a few weeks. I'd never do colored nails or any type of makeup though.

Yes but very little, an eyeliner and occasionally a bit of eye shadow. I used to wear lipstick and concealer too but now that I'm wearing a mask, it's become pointless.

I'm wearing purple nail varnish as I type this now!

I'm still getting to grips with make up. I've got the hang of foundation and lipstick but still very much struggling with eye make up...

Fish Pedi? Is that the thing where the fish swim around in a tank and you stick your feet in?

I've been wanting to do it for awhile because my nails always look bland. How much does it run usually? Do you usually just go for the kind where they buff your nails without polish?

The prices here are different depending on gender (amazed they can get away with that tbh) for guys it’s like $15 for a manicure or pedicure, so $30 if you want both. Then you’re kind of expected to tip them at least $5 per item also, which makes it $40 for both.

For women it’s a LOT more, when I went with a female friend she paid like $85 for the exact same things I got for $30 before tip. They apparently know the only way to get male clients for that stuff is to drop the price a lot.

Yeah I do the nail buff/trim/wash basic thing which comes with free clear polish if you want it (it’s technically a nail-protector not a Polish like the colors are according to them).

I was amazed how cheap it was for guys honestly, only $30-$40 to have someone spend an entire hour of surprisingly hard physical labor on just me is a deal compared to freakin $25 for a 5 minute haircut that every hair place charges these days.

Thats not bad pricing for guys, although it could be vastly different here in Philadelphia. I do agree that its not fair that we get charged less for the same thing.

My haircut is only $18 plus tip. I don't know where you go but mine isnt that bad. But I'd still rather go there than the cheap $6 places that just use clippers and give you a crappy style

I hate the sensation of someone doing my nails, so I do nail care mysef.

As for nail polish, I used for some time, but now haven't in ages. It chips a lot. But it's cool to look at your own panted nails

I haven't done makeup in ages either, and when I did it, it was rather on the minimal side. It gets on my nerve to spend too much time in front of the mirror.

I do some makeup to hide my facial hair, and that's it. No blush, shadow, liner, etc.

I started doing my nails when we were in lockdown, and I've kept it up, even though I'm back at work now. Only two people have said anything about it (a random customer and a barista) and they were both compliments.

The problem is, though, that the polish keeps getting rubbed off or something, I think by the gloves I wear all day. I touch it back up when I get home, but by the end of the week it can look kind of bleh, so I redo them in another color. This week: teal!

When I was in my 20s I would take almost an hour getting ready each morning. Doing full face makeup and all the hair stuff (back in the 80s when hair was big and complicated). Now most of the time I do not wear makeup but when I feel like it I will use lipstick and mascara. I will also paint my nails which I do keep moderately long but they tend to break so I soak my fingertips in oil most days which means not wearing polish as often. My toes are painted more often as they are healthier and they chip less.

I'm only 13 so my mom won't let me wear makeup but I LOVE nail polish! If you're a guy or a non binary person and want to wear makeup and nail polish, that's awesome also!

For me, it just depends on the day. Most days I don't but if I am feeling fancy or just woke up really early and have too much time to get ready then I definitely will wear makeup.
