hello to all I have been reading many posts and I love the positivity and honesty. So I am 62 and came out to my wife last year. And she has been wonderful. It has actually addressed lots of lingering marital problems and we are closer than ever. It has been a huge amount of shared work. My dear wife is fine with me having a relationship in addition to her; But in somewhat rural areas especially in these crazy times it is so difficult. Any thoughts would be appreciated!
Hi @Dan2469 and welcome to EC. Congratulations on coming out to your wife and I’m pleased that she had been supportive. I hope you find the support you are looking for on EC. There’s a discussion about Rural LGBT here, which you might like to read.
Welcome to EC, Dan. It seems like you have a uniquely supportive wife, and I'm glad to hear things are going well for you. I second LostInDaydreams suggestion to check out the Rural LGBT discussion, and I also suggest visiting the LGBT Later in Life subforum. If you need anything, please let us know. Welcome!
Thank you so much. I had a friend for about a year but then he fell in love with a guy his age— and I am happy for him—and we remain friends. But the starting over is just challenging!
Hello, Dan2469! It sounds like you and your wife have a very special relationship. I think that's wonderful!
