    So I have a bad habit of frantically Googling things late at night.
    Last night was pretty bad. My ideations were very loud and I was having a hard time falling asleep.
    I looked up examples and definitions of abuse and neglect.
    And came to the realization that both had been happening on and off my entire life.
    Blatant neglect.
    Abandonment.
    General disregard for my emotional needs.

    I cried for a long time. That at least was cathartic.
    My next therapy appointment isn't for another week, so I'm just here, twiddling my thumbs and trying to keep it all together.

    Any advice or kind words would be much appreciated.

    Thanks for listening.

    Maybe make a list of what you’d like to talk about in therapy and then put it aside and make a list of positive things that make you happy or are thankful for or anything you can think of. Once you’ve made the first list, just let it be until your therapy session. Don’t let it take up any more space in your head, if you can. You’re in charge. :}

    You’ll get through this.

    And welcome to EC! :umbrella2:

    Thank you. This is really good advice. I've already done the first, but always seem to forget the second. I appreciate it

    Really is right. The last thing you need to allow this to do is consume your mind. That can lead to insanely deep depression and suicidal thoughts. That’s how those came on me, bc I over stressed about things.
    Also, well wishes on your therapy!

    Exactly. These thoughts lead to scary places. I'm actually headed on a vacation, so hopefully the space and time away does some good for my mental health.
