Easy question: what book, magazine, article, anything are you reading right now? Add a short summary if you like and state whether you like it or not.

I'm reading a book called 'twee vrouwen' (translated to 'two women', it's Dutch) by Harry Mulisch. Apparently it's also translated to English and a movie is made of it, so you've got plenty of access to it. Don't know if you want that tho cause it's a pretty boring story of two women that fall in love with each other until one of them runs away with the other's ex-husband. It's a typical lesbian story written through the eyes of a man who probably doesn't know about (lesbian) love. I do have to add tho that it was written in 1975, so that was way before homosexuality was seen as a normal thing.

Are you reading anything better than this?

I'm reading a book of short stories "Fly Already" by Etgar Keret, an Israeli author. What an imagination he has! Some real mind fucks here. Enjoying it immensely. I'm finding foreign (to me) authors to be very enlightening in this bizarre state the world is in right now.

I recently finished "Sorted: A Transgender Memoir" by Jackson Bird. Bird is a YouTube star and transgender advocate who tells his story. This book is a wonderful story and is well written. There are a lot of things in his story that I can relate to (many in the reverse-gender role). I highly recommend it for any trans or questioning people.

I’m currently reading Love On The Night Shift by Radclyffe. It’s another love story involving two doctors in a small town. The author has written many more like it, some of them set in the same town. I’m less than half way through it but it’s kind of predictable. But it’s a nice story so far and as long I none of the main characters die I’ll enjoy it. I don’t mind if a character gets badly injured and recovers because that can be the motivation to admit their feelings, as long as they don’t die. I

Simply put (I'm not a scholar, so I have to put it simply), Heimskringla was written in the 13th century, and no surviving copies actually say who the author was. But scholars do believe (based on style and other records) it may have been written by him.

Doctor Who: The Many Hands by Dale Smith (it’s a book based on a TV show called Doctor Who)
The Doctor is a time-traveling alien who can regenerate his body when on the brink of death. He runs around with a companion of some sort, having adventures and saving planets. Today he and his companion land in Edinburgh, 1759. I haven’t gotten very far, so I don’t know much about the plot so far. I am really enjoying it!

I just finished the new book in the Hunger Games series a couple days ago. I really liked it, granted I did do the audiobook version of it because I’ve found that actually picking up a book is difficult for me. Which is odd because when I was younger(up until about 19 really), I loved reading. I loved picking up new books. Now, not so much.

I'm currently wrapping up my reread (haven't read these since high school) of Percy Jackson book 3. After that I'm probably either going to do book 4 or else reread Love Simon or The Foxhole Court. Undecided right now, hmm.

    Currently reading:

Sontag: Her Life and Work by Benjamin Moser

A rightful tome, but an appropriately exhaustive account of one of my favorite public intellectuals.

    also

Crossing to Safety by Wallace Stegner

A gem about the permanence and troubles of friendship, I can't believe it's taken me this long to take up.

Veins of Gold by Charlie N. Holmberg.

Not my favourite of her works (I really liked the Paper Magician series when it came out) but it isn't awful. Just a bit slow for my tastes.

@La Corbeau Ooh, he wrote Scythe too, right? I've been meaning to pick him up for a while, but my TBR is ridiculous. O_O

Reading books became my major hobby recently. So, I read English novels at my leisure time. I already read White Fang and King Arthur and his knights. And just started reading Chronicles of Narnia.

I'm also reading A History of Britain. There is also a fantasy series called Riyria Revelations and I have already read most of it. Very enjoyable.

I have selected several other classics too. Mostly British.

So, I guess I'm into British classics for now. I read and listen to the books at the same time, To improve my English listening skill which is poor.
