I figured now might be a good time to discuss recommendations of media for people to enjoy that won't cost them anything, since we're all stuck in our houses anyway. It's always easy to find recommendations for new TV shows or movies, but I usually see a lot of "Oh it's on Hulu. I don't have that." and that's where the conversation ends. So I would love to hear what free internet entertainment people recommend!

I've spent a lot of time this break watching musicals by Team Starkid. They're all filmed on Youtube, and the newer ones have a lot nicer quality and cinematography. My favorite is "The Guy Who Didn't Like Musicals", which is the start of a series apparently?? They're really funny, sometimes a little too crass, but I adore the performances and some of the music absolutely slaps.

There's also a whole world of games available. The world of RPG-maker horror games that are free online are so cool. My favorite as a middle schooler was Ib, and it looks like it's still available! I played a little of Space Funeral a while back as well, and that one seemed super weird (but also really cool).

You can watch a lot of anime on Crunchyroll for free, just have to put up with ads and a slightly lower quality.

Youtube has some full-length movies provided by them that are free with ads. If you search free with ads movies on Youtube a bunch of titles come up.

    TubiTV, Crackle, PlutoTV.

all three platforms have free media, but ads are included. They’re not like most places with ads though, often it’s one or two short ads(no more than 30 seconds), and then right back into your program

While they're not full-length movies, Ash Hardell (she/he/they) have a lot of great content on YouTube. Some informative on LGBT issues (mainly trans/NB), some personal stories, and others just outright hilarious.

    My personal favorites:
"I'm Trans"--informative about how non-binary people fit in the trans community
    "I Regret My Last Video"--hilarious follow-up to "I'm Trans"
"I Mailed Myself To Donald Trump...And It Worked"--a three-part series
"Telling My Wife I Want Kids"--incredibly heart-warming you'll be teary-eyed, if not outright crying by the end.

Soap2day has loads of movies, it's a website. There are some annoying ads, when you click play it will take you to another browser, but you can just ex it out and proceed. It won't interrupt with ads in the middle, so that's good.

I'm totally into East Asian dramas nowadays so I'm on kissasian and viki rakuten a lot. Both of them have some 1 - 2 minute advertisements about 5 times or so during the 60 - 75 minute episodes, but that doesn't really bother mine. I think Viki has a premium service that eliminates these ads too.
