So it’s a high school band and generally we don’t take requests, sorry. We’ve really got too much going on most of the time.

So a couple of my friends have been working on a passion-project video game for a while now. One of them has been talking to me on and off about possibly doing motion capture for the main character of the game, but they abandoned that idea. However, she talked to me this week and mentioned they might want me in to read for a different part soon!

That was already exciting, but THEN I talked to the narrative designer of the game (also another friend). We were talking about the character and how I had to work on sounding wise and all-knowing, and he goes "Oh, that character? Yeah she gets possessed by an angry God and flips between the two personalities."

GUYS I STARTED DANCING I WAS SO EXCITED. I loooooooooove challenging characters. I love emotionally challenging parts. And to know I'm in the running for this role is so exciting. When he mentioned, "We're trying to figure out who'll voice the God..." I immediately went "PLEASE LET ME DO BOTH OH MY GOD. THAT WOULD BE SO COOL." and he seemed to really enjoy the idea.

I can figure out how to make myself sound like someone possessed by a crazed God (I've played crazy before, I was Macbeth once lol), now I just need to know how to sound wise and wistful... if anybody has good character references please send them my way... :joy:

A follow up to my earlier post in this thread about the support groups, last night was my third time at the genderqueer/non-binary support group and there were two new members (in a rather small group of about a dozen or so). I felt like I really connected with those two more than I have with the other members of the group. After the standard group session, most of the group usually goes to a nearby coffee shop. Last night as we were leaving, myself and the two new members walked together for a block and a half. One of them had someone picking her up, the other was going back to their car, while I was heading to the bus. It's never been easy for me to make friends, so last night was kinda special to me.

So February has come and gone in the blink of an eye. Yesterday was our forest rehearsal were the band was able to successfully perform the entire field show from start to finish without interruption. In our World, that’s a big moment. It’s no where near ready what it will be, and there’s so much fun stuff that we get to add now. But, we have a show. It’s such a fun show.

The drill we’re marching is quite possibly the mouse complicated drill we’ve ever marched, at least since I’ve been here. And my students are absolutely nailing it. Now there’s definitely some uh-ohs (tuba player got smacked by a guard member — flag pole to the face because he wasn’t where he was supposed to be) but we’re getting there.

Since we’re going to have parents going, and it is a show about pirates, were presented with a unique opportunity to do some....fun but off the beaten path things. All of our band parents are going to have part of a break down flag pole with them like kinda hidden. Then towards the end of the show, one of the trumpet players runs forward, and he’s going to fire a stage flintlock pistol and our band parents are going to hoist a fairly large pirate flag, right in the stands. It’s gonna be great.

Small things, like finally having a max raid battle with real people. Finding out my sister is flying over for a visit soon. I found my passport after two years so I can think about a holiday after the virus crises. My mom getting the all clear from cancer. The days getting longer.

Tomorrow is March Fourth, a bit of a marching band/DCI holiday. One of the cars band’s fairly loyal sponsors is having a corporate event tomorrow. They’ve invited the band to perform, which is great. But, it’s also the first time the band has really performed the field show this spring.

This business usually donates a considerable amount every year to the band, as well as one of the major programs we support in our district which helps to provide at risk youths and teens better opportunities.

I will be getting my next tattoo at the end of this month! I finally worked up the courage to go to the shop and tell them my idea. It only took like 2 years for me to actually work up the courage to go and talk with somebody about doing it.

I recently started drawing after long periods of not engaging in any real hobbies, other than watching Youtube. The act itself was relaxing, and fun to experiment with different color scheme.

Oh nice what’re you getting? I want another tattoo just can’t decide what. I really want sleeves but my district frowns on it slightly.

    Very nice! Art is great.

I came out to myself! Also I got third principal beating two juniors (I’m a freshman) as a trumpet! My work paid off! I also got 6th chair in all county when I didn’t think I’d get in at all! My friends have all been doing better with their mental health which is always good.

I'm reading a high number of amateur writers, and their stuff is just fantastic. There is so much new talent around, especially among the younger generations.

    Good books for free :space_invader:
