Hey, I'm new to this community, looking for support and advise none of which I can rely on my parents for
I am transmale, age 16, and dealing with dysphoria that gets worst with each passing day. I'm unable to seek out face to face therapy or proceed to start horomone therapy as my parents refuse to even try to understand what it is I am feeling, I've tried everything to get them to listen, but they have stereotypical intolerant
Responses (sorry the reply is split, I clicked... Something). So unable to seek out help, and finding myself isolated from people I once felt were my friends but am now unable to feel comfortable around them as they insist on trying to follow the "trend" and fake being transgender when they're not, I turned to social support online, hoping to find someone, anyone like me who can support me in my journey.
Hey @Ariake ! Welcome to EC! So, you're 16 and you're trying to get support and understanding for being who you are (which happens to be a Trans Male teenager in this instance). You' ve arrived at an extremely helpful, understanding and totally supportive website. I have never acutally lived in Missouri - other than traveling through the state and staying overnight, as well as about two months at Fort Leonard Wood. I, personally, am also not Trans, but I think I get what you are talking about - at least in the big picture. It can be super hard for those of us who are LGBTQ to not only be taken seriously - especially for Transgender people, but also to find people around us in an otherwise seemingly 'hostile' environment, who can provide support. I would invite the EC Administrators/Advisors @Mirko and @Chip to this conversation in order to better help you with local resources. But, know this @Ariake , you are not alone. QR
