    I don't follow basketball, but this is a tragedy and shocking.

    I heard his 13 year old daughter also died in the crash, along with Kobe and three other people

    RIP to all them. I can't imagine what Kobe's wife is going through. It's difficult to lose someone so tragically but to lose a husband and a child in the same day must be devastating.

    *Update* Apparently there were 9 people onn the helicopter. All of them died.

    I'm so sad. As a sports fan growing up in southern California, I had so many amazing memories of watching him play.
