I saw it on Saturday night, it was actually quite good. For some reason it reminded me a lot of the Lord of the Rings movies. Probably because Tolkien was a World War 1 veteran. It moves slowly in some spots, and it's a little difficult to understand the British accents, but it's extremely well made and without giving anything away, you'll be yelling at the rat that drops the bag long after the movie is over. What exactly am I talking about? You'll have to go see the movie to find out.
I liked it. I'm not a huge war movie fan, and only really have Dunkirk to compare it to. 1917>>>>>Dunkirk imho.
Well, Dunkirk is a World War 2 movie, 1917 is a World War 1 movie. Those are two radically different wars. Not just in which side the belligerents were on but in how they were fought. So of course they're going to be radically different films.
Not yet, it's on my list. I might go see it this weekend if I find the time. I recently had to read a long book about WW1 for class, so I'll have some proper context for it.
I saw it and I thought it was absolutely brilliant! Everything about it was amazing the action, costumes and the acting was superb!
