    Hi everyone,

I consider myself straight but curious. In that sense, the other day I tried the new dildo I had recently bought together with a gag ball.

I believe I tried to force a little bit as there was blood on the condom for three times. I had read before that this situation is typical of first anal attempts, and so I basically used baby wipes and toilet paper to clean the blood and continue the fun.

I used a lot of lube to ease the process, but it didn’t prevent me from bleeding.

At some point, I stopped the fun as I couldn’t go any further and maybe because I had such high expectations for the first trial that weren’t met.

I cleaned my butt, took a shower and went to sleep. However, I couldn’t sleep because I felt some burn and itching coming from my butt. Tried to clean it with baby wipes again and applied some cream but nothing worked. The next day I woke up with mild symptoms and I stopped feeling the burn by midday.

When I got back home later that day, I used a mirror to see how my butt looked like and saw some reddish “burns” on my butt, which have worried me a lot.

I’ve been thinking of going to see a doctor but maybe I’m overreacting.

Also, regarding the gag ball, I had received it that day as well. As I was so horny, I cleaned the ball with baby wipes only as I didn’t want to use any other cleaning wipes suitable for cleaning the toilet or the like.

Now, I don’t feel any pain or burn, but the reddish thing on my butt still persists, and I’ve been a kind of constipated since. Should I be worried?

    Many thanks.

    Hey PSWalter,

There shouldn't be any blood if you are doing things properly. Use plenty of lube, not only in yourself, but also on the toy (especially the tip). If it hurts, then don't force it. Stop, rest for a bit if needed and apply more lube before trying again. The main "secret" is that you should be calm and relaxed, without rushing the process.

Also, it's important to clean your toys before and after use. Neutral soap is usually a good idea, but you should also follow the instructions provided by the manufacturer of the toy. It's easy to get an infection down there if you aren't careful, so it's worth to take a bit of time to clean everything up before proceeding.

As for the blood, if it was just a little mark on the paper, then I wouldn't worry too much (aside from going slower next time). As you don't feel any pain or burn anymore, you are probably fine. However, if the symptoms persist or return, then it wouldn't hurt to check in with a doctor.

Many thanks for your answer, Chiroptera.

Regarding toy cleaning, I did wash the dildo before usage. As I was not sure about the material of the dildo, I preferred to use a condom to make sure all was fine. As for the gag ball, the toy is made of rubber and did not want to use bleach or other liquids that could be later absorbed by my mouth or tongue. I thought that cleaning it with baby wipes would be a better idea as I bought the toy on Amazon.

Regarding the blood, I had to use 3/4 wipes to clean it. As the baby wipes are soaked in moist, it have maybe made it harder to clean up in one shot.

I really hope all is fine with me.

Great, it's good that you have everything cleaned up then.

As for the blood, is it still coming out? How do you feel?

    Thank you.

Fortunately, the blood only came out when I was forcing the dildo into my butt. I saw it first, stopped and cleaned with a couple of baby wipes. Tried it again and pushed the dildo a bit further, so more blood. Then a third time. I know I should’ve stopped, but I just wanted to fantasize about anal sex, and that it influenced my common sense.

What then worried me the most was the rash/itchy butt/burn I felt overnight. I thought I scratched or damaged something inside my butt. I also thought it could have been a reaction to lube — it’s Durex btw.

So, right now, I have no pain, but I still have that kind of red spot on the skin of my butt. Also, I’ve experienced some changes in the emptying my bowels habits.

    You are welcome.

It's impossible to give precise diagnosis over the internet. As you don't feel pain and the bleed stopped, I don't believe you have damaged anything there permanently. However, if you are still worried or if what you are feeling (like the bowel habits) persists, then a visit to the doctor may be a good idea.

    You are totally right

I may visit a doctor if the bowel habits issue persists. Also, I’ve felt discomfort in the stomach or bowels. That can be due to the dildo situation or the gag ball that wasn’t perhaps properly cleaned. I learned today that one could return a sex toy to Amazon, which I found a bit disgusting.

Moreover, it can be due to some anxiety originated by this whole situation.

Going to the doctor and explain what happened is painful.

    Thank you again

So, today I decided to visit the doctor because I started to notice some discomfort in the abdominal area.

As I am now living outside the US, it was an interesting experience. The doctor could speak English, but with some limitations.

I started the conversation by saying that I’d share something a bit embarrassing. Summarized the whole story, and I guess he didn’t understand what I used to stimulate my anus. I had to say sex toy and his face was priceless, lol

He quickly checked my butt — super quick by the way as he thought I’d show him some rash or the like on the skin of my bowels first.

He prescribed me a suppository and a cream. He said that if I wouldn’t feel better, he will send me to a specialist.

In the end, I told him that it is never easy to talk about such topics — I said that in the local language. He said that everything was alright.

    I hope all goes well.

    You are welcome!

It must have been an interesting experience to talk about these things in another language. But I think it's good that you did it. When in doubt, seeing a doctor is the way to go. Even if it is nothing, the fact that this confirmation comes from a doctor is solid.

As it was just a suppository and a cream, I don't believe it's anything serious. Just follow the instructions from the doctor, use these prescribed products and maybe refrain from playing with your toy until everything is better. And, the next time you do it, just go slow and follow the tips I've mentioned above and you should be good. Just don't force things, as pain and blood are your body's way of saying: "Hey man, slow down a bit!".

Many thanks again, Chiroptera. This thread has been very important to me as it made me go out and ask for help

Also, it’s good I decided to visit the doctor. I think I got some fissures in the anus or got the hemorrhoids inflamed as sometimes I feel a big discomfort on my bowels, and the way to curb is to go to the toilet. The cortisone suppository and cream may be of good help.

I believe it will take some days or maybe weeks to feel better and to have it healed.

Unfortunately, bleeding isn’t uncommon when it comes to anal sex and stimulation. Obviously, you want to avoid causing bleeding at all costs, and for the most part it’s not difficult to do that as long as you’re patient and have the self-awareness to know your limits. But as I’m a bottom who has been in a gay relationship for 6 years now, I’ve experienced some bleeding myself, but it’s never been due to any major problems.

The skin and membrane in that area is extremely thin and delicate because it wasn’t intended to be a sexual play area. Although great fun can be had as long as you’re safe, the reality is that we’re using something in a way for which it was not intended. So precautions must be taken.

You know your body and your limits better than anyone else, so if you decide to continue with butt play, try to be very aware of yourself. You should never need to force anything into your anus. With enough lube and relaxation, you should be able to penetrate yourself fairly easily. Of course, part of the difficulty you’re having is that you’re simply not accustomed to having things going into your anus. So the first handful of times probably won’t be as great as you’d hoped, but that’s because you’re these first several times are mostly for adjusting to a very new sensation. For instance, the first few times I bottomed for my boyfriend, I really didn’t like it and was expecting anal sex to be a very infrequent part of our sexual routine. But after a couple weeks of trying it, it started to feel less bizarre and even started to feel good. At a certain point, I actually began to like it a lot. And it took time to reach that point.

I guess what I’m trying to say is that you’re going to have to be patient with yourself for a bit. Think of it like getting into the cold water of a pool: First your dip a toe into the water. Then you put a foot in. Once that’s okay, you go a little further, maybe up to your knee. Eventually, you’re all the way in the water, which doesn’t even feel that cold anymore.

Significant contribution, DangerAlex! Thank you for sharing. I liked your last example — very accurate.

I believe I won’t be prepared for trying anal play anymore. The first time I tried with a dildo got me into trouble.

This may sound odd, but I had tried anal play with other objects before buying the dildo. For some reason, I could somehow enjoy it a bit without any major problems. In case you are wondering what I had used for anal play, that is a carrot. Of course, I didn’t insert the carrot per se in my butt but used a condom to protect myself. Then, after trying it a couple of times, I thought I’d be prepared for a dildo — I was wrong.

Anyway, I believe this experience is a life lesson, and so I’m not sure if I want to repeat it.

What language other than English you spoke
To the doctor if I may ? Also why play with a
Dildo instead of finding a partner?

Something not mentioned here a far as I can see is the size of that dildo you’re using. Maybe you’re being too ambitious for a beginner?
