I didn't allow myself to think about not being straight until I was in my late teens. Then I spiraled into a confusion that took a decade of adulthood to look back on before I was able to realize where my sexuality really fell.

I was around 15 when I realised something was different. I went to an all-boys high school and seeing the guys in speedos for waterpolo had a very odd effect. I didn't accept it and I left it alone till I was 25 ... but still now, it's a hard thing to accept. I have months where I struggle. I guess I never had a lot of positive support to deal with it :frowning2:

There were some signs early on (interest in lesbian themed movies, for example), but it wasn't until I realised that most straight women wouldn't feel envious when they saw 2 women together that it hit home. Until then I'd just assumed most women found other women attractive.

This was me. I felt this and didn't even realize what it was until Ellen came out. Then the interest/envy was clearer, and I realize that if I could come out without (as I believed then) going to hell, that's what I would do.
