So, I came out as bi to my family in September, and I feel like I might be bi. However, I've only had a crush on one girl who has short curly hair, and I thought she was a boy at first. I really want to be bi, because it seems right. I'm just not sure. Sometimes I'm okay with it, but there are sometimes where I think that I'm just a mockery of biromantic/bisexual people. I feel guilty whenever I find a girl cute, but I also have the same fear of rejection with girl crushes as I do with boy crushes.

I believe if it seems right to you, you should consider yourself bi. Its okay to change your mind or feel insecure about different things as you discover what you like. As for the " Mockery" part I feel that bi romantic/bisexual people have gone through some thing similar because no one automatically knows what their into or that it will always stay the same. I honestly don't think you have anything to be worried or guilty about since its ok to learn what you like or don't like and its also normal to be afraid of rejection. I hope you the best luck as you learn more about being bisexual and how that applies to you.

Thank you so much! This definitely helps a lot. I agree that no one automatically knows what they're into. I've been pretty sure, but I'm still just the tiniest bit curious. Thank again!

There's definitely nothing wrong with adopting the label if you feel it fits. If it changes later, that's okay too. I understand your concern (bi people do tend to suffer from erasure from both hetero and non-hetero camps) but the fault is certainly not yours or anyone else still trying to figure themselves out. Be patient with yourself and give yourself time to sort out your feelings; your attractions may shift now and again (that's pretty normal for bi, pan, and sexually fluid people) but it's definitely nothing to worry about.

You’re not a mockery! It doesn’t matter how many crushes you’ve had, you can still have feelings for both girls and boys, you don’t need a crush to know that. Also it does not matter what she looks like or what you initially thought. What matters is whether or not after you found out she was a girl your crush remained. Remember you’re always valid, I hope you feel better about it soon
