Ya I saw this on the news. A few things need to happen to end this kind of shit. a) education of the populace b) more Americans need to travel internationally c) more mentors in LGBT theater d) have zero tolerance for hate
This makes me very sad. So easy to happen with social media it only takes one thing and the bullies do the rest
It's really sad. What's even more infuriating is that, judging by my own experience of being outed, people who do shit like this seem to be incapable of feeling any remorse about it. Those kids really should face some kind of consequence over this if they haven't already.
It's so sad. I just don't understand why bullying still happens. I can't imagine getting pleasure or feeling validated by causing emotional or physical harm to another person, but if I did, bullying certainly wouldn't be worth the very real possibility of being directly responsible for that person's death. Bullying is sickening and it seems like it's only getting worse. I think schools need to start making sensitivity training mandatory once kids reach a certain age.
Because it's not just a kid's issue - bullying carries on into adulthood. You can't enforce the idea that bullying is wrong and unthinkable if you're still justifying that kind of behaviour in yourself.
I think bullying gives the bully a feeling of power/ almost intoxication and it is irresistible they do not give a second thought to the consequences - simply because they are not able to think it through from the perspective of the victim
Not being able to understand it is the problem. I do, I get it. It's part of being human, it's been with us since our birth. The in group/out group thing that drives us to hate on others. History shows that it doesn't end, it just takes another form. Alas this didn't work that well when it came to racism or climate change. Lack of any objective moral code doesn't help either.
