Let's talk nails/nail length

As short as I can bite them down.

 

I cut them the second they go over my thumb xD

I tend to cut them with my teeth because I feel I have more control and I have cut my skin a few times with the regular nail cutter (hurts like a b, you know?). I don't really like nails, to be honest. They seem more like an hindrance than anything.

 

I keep my thumb, index, and middle finger nails short, and my ring and pinky nails long- I like the drama of my four long nails but I also appreciate the practicality of my short nails, it allows me to keep all the functionality of my hands whilst still allowing for glamour.

 

Naturally, my nails are brittle as hell, so I keep them very short. I sometimes apply nail polish on them, and sometimes I don't. I used "Nail Magic" and it worked and made my nails very long and thick, but then I got lazy and now they're back to being stubby.

Since I'm a lesbian, can't really do the long nail look since I want to.. yeah.

 

I don't like seeing the whitish part, so I try to trim the second the white part forms lol

 

I keep my nails as short as possible because I'm a musician.
I've hears of guitar players keeping the nails on their strumming hand long so they can fingerpick but that grosses me out. Idk something about uneven nail length bothers me.
I keep my thumbs with just a tiny bit of the white part for utilitarian reasons. Popping off tight caps, scratching an itch, and breaking open plastic wrapped packages.

 

Does anyone apply nail polish on only one hand? I apply nail polish only on my left hand, coz in India we eat using our right hand. Many people apply nail polish on all ten fingers, but I don't want the chemicals to mix with my food. And the turmeric used stains the nail paint, giving it a ugly yellow tint. Which I absolutely loathe.

 

I play acoustic guitar, so I tend to clip my left-hand (fingerboard) fingernails very short while letting my right-hand (strumming/fingerpicking) fingernails grow out a little. I also tend to trim my right-hand nails so they're kinda triangular.

It's honestly best of both worlds. Short nails allow me to touch things with the pads of my fingers (think mobile phone use), while long nails let me open packaging and pinch things (and I can click them against each other to make that awesome clicky-clicky sound).

 

I keep mine short without nali polish. I have no parter to be imtinate with, but when doing the "business" for myself I make sure my nails are short. Also, having nail polish chemicals down there seems unhealthy.

 

I never wear any nail polish, and I cut my fingernails whenever they look like they're too long (sixth of an inch, or so). I often cut them down to where there is no white, but I cannot do that to my thumbs because the area touching the skin right below the nails is extremely sensitive.

 

I don't like long nails and I also keep mine short. Sometimes I paint them, though.

 

Due to thyroid issues I can’t have long nails anymore , but I just painted them yesterday . And of course being lesbian well... it never hurts to keep nails short when your ahem, making love

 

My nails grow back annoyingly fast so I constantly have to trim them. Personally, however, I prefer my nails to be mid-length. If they’re too short it hurts my fingers and I can’t open anything. If they’re too long it’s just gross and uncomfortable.
