My girlfriend brought up possibly getting a hotel room with me so that we could cuddle and kiss and maybe even have sex . I want her to get tested with me before this happens , how does one ask someone to get tested without seeming paranoid ?
Seconded. The easiest way to bring it up is to lead by example and offer to have it done together, support each other with it.
First, is there a reason for you to not believe her if she says she has recently ben tested? I usually say I was tested in November of 18 and I am clean. (I have only had one sexual partner in the last year) I think everyone should get tested annually. Maybe you could play it off like the other suggestion like hey, I’m going for my annual testing would you like to get tested with me so we can mark the anniversary together? Something to that effect.
First you have every right to ask a potential sex partner to be tested or if they were tested. And yes you also need to be tested at least once a year. You need to take care of yourself.
It’s not nearly as fun as anticipating spending your first night together, but it’s important and if she’s worth being with she won’t object. My now-girlfriend asked me to get tested before we spent the night together. I didn’t really think it was necessary because I’d been in a monogamous relationship for the previous 25 years, but hell yeah, I did it! Well worth to it give her peace of mind.
