I'm 16 and I just don't know what to do with my life and It frustrates me to the point of exhaustion. I just want some advice on what you think I can do right now at this stage in my life and p.s how I would go about getting a boyfriend in highschool
What are your interests and talents? What careers have you thought about to date? Are you planning on university? Sometimes realisations about what you want to do will take time but .... relax.. it will come in time. You are at a very exciting time in life when multiple opportunities lie ahead
Career wise, just try different things. Talk to different people about what they do for a living. Get a part-time job. Volunteer at different places or see if you can shadow different people. If you go to college, join different clubs and groups. Do internships. Take a variety of classes to see what interests you. See what you do and don’t like and what you are and aren’t good at. Give yourself permission to change your mind and make mistakes. What I actually do for a living now literally didn’t even exist as a profession when I was 16 and is dramatically different from what I thought I wanted to do. Don’t feel like you have to have it all figured out now or even at 18.
For career advice, find something you have interest in and research it, maybe find a place that will let you shadow an employee. We had a class called industrial tech that gave us a one week sample of different trades over the course to the school year. Growing up I wanted to be three things, a soldier, a diesel mechanic, and a trucker. I have done all three at various points in my life. I changed careers from mechanic to trucker at 38. As for finding a boyfriend. When I was in high school it was my best friend. We were talking one day and it just kind of came out that we were interested.
16 is in no way the mid point in your life. First you have to finish high school. Second you want to follow thru with the suggestion the others gave you. Help only works if you want it too and try it.
