Are there any gay car enthusiasts out there?

Because of the Outlaw spirit that created NASCAR. People like it because the think it links them to the moonshine bandits of yesteryear. So it has more popularity in the USA. Also when was the last time you saw a formula one driver hop out and whip someone’s ass?

 

Airplanes are cool but I know nothing about them. I have always been into things that go fast on the ground.

 

Not cars, but I used to have a Harley (1974 FLH) that was in baskets when I bought it and I built a Honda chopper before that. I'm thinking about buying an old Dodge truck to restore as a cheapie street rod/lowrider, though I'm not sure if I want to commit the time to the job.

I think that Lambda Car Club International is big around here, though there are plenty of other clubs out there.

 

Yes, it is. I've been meaning to get to one of their rides but haven't met the local chapter yet. There are quite a few other clubs out there, I didn't find any in Brazil when I searched, but that may be because I'm in the US and Google probably prioritizes results based on location.

 

That is the worst part of my job, I drive past a lot of farms or dairies with a lot of old vehicles just waiting to be turned into something cool. Sadly most will sit until the owner dies and the kids sell it for scrap. Seen it way too many times. I even offered a guy more money for a single 1942 Mack truck than his kids got for that truck and three other vehicles.

 

I'm not wild about SUVs, although I have no experience with them (past having ridden in them). One thing I wonder and worry about is if the SUV craze won't mean the end of regular cars in the US at some point.

I'd actually say Toyotas are more than a "bit bland." They are more like plain "boring." Although, as I commented before, a part of me is now willing to consider looking past that in order to get reliability with few headaches...

I'm not sure about Mazda, given that I hear of issues with age and miles on newer Mazdas. This is a concern, given that every car I've ever had was bought used, and often higher miles. Although, at the same time, a lot depends on the circumstances of the moment and what deals are available.

I know. I'm hesitant to get this truck, partly because I was offered a C-cab Studebaker years ago and never had time to work on it. I finally let it go.

Given your username, maybe someone should open a thread about trucking. I've thought about driving OTR to grind for cash and to see a little more of the country, at least what can be seen from the highway.

A trucking thread is a great idea, I wasn’t sure how many folks would be interested in it.

 

You can make bank trucking if you have the right endorsements and work for the right companies. But you also have to be cool with mostly living in the truck, which I don't do.

 

I've like cars since I was a little boy and have always wondered how many others out there who share this common interest. Today I searched for "gay car enthusiasts" and we happy to have found this post.

I drive a Prius and my favorite car is the classic Citroen DS.

I'm gay and I own a 1978 Chevy El Camino truck. My version of a muscle car.
I love muscle cars from the late 60's to early 70's.
Favorites include Chevy Chevelle, El Camino, Nova, and Pontiac Firebird.
I do go to car shows in my area. It's a lot of fun to attend.

 

I have a 1956 Chev., not a Nova, but a 4-door sedan. Still very cool though. I hope I still have it! It was at the house the day I moved out.

 

Car enthusiast here big time mostly into european classics. I consider anything thing from the mid to late 90s new. Being in California allows me to drive these cars forever. Love merc diesels bmws volvo saab audi jag anything rare too. This was my first post and will be my last as there are way too many rules on this site. It’s 2020 and lockdown and should be able to post what you want. Who cares if people want to meet and place your location??

 

I like this site a lot; I think it gives us a forum and a way to voice our feelings and be supportive and kind to one another. I like the really old cars; like from the 1970's and before, mostly. Well, those are my favorites, but I can certainly appreciate others. It is sure fun to ride in a convertible with the top down in the summer; wow!
