    Am I the only person loving Gentleman Jack? I was expecting a thread to have already been created.

    Sure Miss Lister has some outdated views, but you can’t blame her for being a product of her time. Overall, I am loving it.

    Anyone else?

    I that a band in the UK? In the USA it is a whiskey that I experienced many times in my youth, unfortunately it never took the B in LGBT away for more than a few hours. LOL :slight_smile:

    I’m on the 2nd episode and loving it. Watching Anne trying to find a wife... argh, can relate! She’s such a charismatic character. I love the way Anne and Marian interact with one another, remind me of me and my sister. I’ve downloarded the companion book and currently working through it.

    Suranne Jones is brilliant in it. I read on twitter/tumblr/can’t remember that her playing Anne is having the same effect on lesbians as Colin Firth playing Darcy did for straight women.

    @virginia, @ladykiki I knew I couldn’t be the only one! Haha.

    I had actually thought of the Mr Darcy equivalence. Does Shibden have a lake? Haha. I like period dramas, and I do like the BBC ‘95 version of Pride and Prejudice, but it’s great to have a character that actually talks sense and I can relate to where she’s coming from.

    Looking forward to episode three! :slight_smile:

    Oh wow, can you imagine Anne emerging from the lake...??? I’ve seen some snippets from the next few episodes and totally agree it’s nice having a character you can really relate to. I think the last time I had that was when Alex came out in Supergirl. It’s great watching a woman so secure in her love for other women.

    And seeing Anne’s family being supportive despite the time they were living in is so heartwarming.

    Great show, and good season finale. It's renewed for season 2 also, I'm afraid the ending wont be as pleasing and happy as season 1.
