I'm sure you have got it covered.

Yeah, sometimes, interviews can be quite revealing in what a position could actually look like; on the one hand it is too bad that it happened, but on the other, it's better to find out during an interview than later. Are there other positions, or government inventories that you could apply to, in the meantime?

Two of my closest LGBTQ friends have both just got partners in the last week. I'm really happy for them. But now I'm wondering how this will affect the friendships I had with them. I'm not a jelious person but i was close friends with both of them.
I would like a nice guy myself but after a 20 year marriage to my ex wife which I left last year I'm actually enjoying some me time.

The flatbreads that one of the local supermarkets is making are simply amazing!

There's been a huge fight at my school's online community over gay rights. Seeing people pretending to be logical, when they're just beung hateful and ignorant, is plain scary. People are actually buying into that stuff.

Honestly, the first 5 or so months are rough, but if you can survive that then you're good

I'm sitting home alone and enjoying some me time. I was listening to some David Bowie and reading some Edgar Allan Poe earlier. Now, I'm here. I might get back to reading later because it's just really nice to sit and read. But... it's also so nice outside today! Hmm... I could either stay isolated indoors or I could go outside and do things... It's a tough decision. Ambivert struggles. XD

If it’s this busy right now, I can’t image what the middle of summer will look like.

A decision I struggle sometimes with. Luckily today the weather has made my decision quite easy. It's the perfect weather to be indoors with a cup of coffee and read.

...funny you mentioned Edgar Allan Poe. I almost picked up a book containing some of his work, yesterday.

Oh, that’s cool! Do you have a favorite poem or short story by Poe?

Not yet. I haven't delved deep enough into his works thus far. His works are on my to read list. So far, I have read about a dozen of his short stories thus and one stood out: "The Fall of the House of Usher."

Aw, yeah! I love that one! A couple other short stories that I recommend are “The Tell-Tale Heart” and “The Cask of Amontillado.”

As far as his poems go, I really like “The Raven.”

It was definitely a good one. Thanks for the recommendations. Will make some time to read them.

When I in college we had poetry reading the last time one class (with an arts focus) met. For some reason, I selected "The Raven." I have no idea why, anymore. One factor might be that it was one of the few poems I liked.

For some reason, I'm thinking "The Cask of Amontillado" might be something we read in a high school literature class. But I can't swear to it. If we did, it would be an interesting choice since it would have been in the approved text book, and yet the school that approved that book was so anti-alcohol (and the title makes an alcohol reference).

A bit off topic...but something I thought of...

Ray Bradbury wrote "Usher II" which appeared in Martian Chronicles. The basic plot takes place in a time of censorship. A man builds a house on Mars that includes some Poe story theme elements (hence the title "Usher II"). But since this is a time of censorship, this house is not acceptable to the authorities...

The story is about a guy getting murdered by his friend after being lured into a wine cellar while drunk due to his greed in wanting the rare and expensive cask of amontillado so... I could see your anti-alcohol school interpreting that as a story about the evils and dangers of alcohol.

I just finished Dead to Me on Netflix. If you guys haven’t watched it yet, I highly recommend it.

This past weekend was fucking weird.

We went to do a fairly experimental stem cell treatment for my husband. Each treatment per person costs $40,000 and we took 6 people with us. We all went on a private jet. Each time we take off costs $35,000.

I have always been surrounded by wealth, but this level is something that I'm just starting to see. Its insane. Its ridiculous and against everything that I have been trying to internalize. And yet, I fucking want to do anything possible to keep it. Its toxic.

I wasn't going to post this because talking about class is a hard subject.

On this trip I took with me the brilliant words from Bell Hooks. She has been able to anchor me to reality through out this whole thing. Hopefully some of my humanity will remain. I would highly encourage you all to read it.

That said, this plane was for the most part free. It was paid thanks to the tax changes made by Trump. We flew in a private jet thanks to tax money.

And idiotic republicans who are making less than $350,000 allowed this to happen because they think they are protecting their money from the poor lol Y'all better wake up man.
