    Dear Sirs,
I am working in my country as government employee now. But I have dream to go out from my country to work overseas.
Please if you have information about jobs or scholarships for doctorate in Canada, Balkan countries or even the US, I will be happy.
Hopefully, one day I will find someone the best for me from these countries. I am ready for next step in my life to be free as gay if I live in West countries.

    Thank you.

@Sundara, glad to hear from you.
I think that this forum would be an extremely difficult arena to find a job or an opportunity in. The first questions you're going to get is what is your area? did you think about immigration to Canada, New Zealand, or Australia? I heard that those countries are more open than the US. I also know for sure that, when applying for a student visa, if they sense that you are not planning on coming back, they'll never issue you a student/work visa, I might be wrong.

Anyways, how are you doing my friend. Update us on your family status. How did you deal with your marriage and your daughter? any news?
    I hope all is well.

    Hugs

    Hello,

I am in Canada, and have worked with international students, if you have any specific questions, immigration and visas to Canada are a lot more open to the us, but can be competitive because of how many want to study and live in Canada.

Usually, factors will include need/refuge status, work background, education, assets/debts, any associations with groups not supported by Canada, criminal records etc.

Please let me know any specifics you feel comfortable with, so I can provide more accurate answers.

Canada is very gay friendly. Especially Toronto, Halifax, and some parts of Montreal if you speak French.

    Hi Iamsogay,
Thank you for your nice information. I graduated from State University in Boston in master science of information technology.
I am interested to apply work or scholarships in Canada for doctorate. But I can't speak French, English only and my national language.
I have experience for school outside of my country so I am familiar with all process. Waiting for next information, Iamsogay. Oh ya...when I was in Boston, I planned to visit Nova Scotia but it cancelled because I don't know where to get Canadian Visa.
    Thanks

Hi there! Given that you have already studied abroad, you are likely aware that one thing that will help you in making the decision that is right for you, is to do your homework for the countries that you would like to call your home one day.

If you are planning on doing a Doctorate, and as you have already studied in the United States, you are probably aware that you will need to have a potential supervisor for your studies, or area that you would like to specialise in. In a lot of cases, you will need to have a firm commitment from a potential supervisor in your field of studies, to have a reasonable chance of being admitted to a program. Spaces in Doctoral programs are of course much more competitive, so starting early in contacting potential supervisors is going to be important.

You might also want to have a look at the different educational institutions to see what kind of funding is offered to international students. If Information Technology is the area in which you would like to specialise in, I would encourage you to look at the universities that offer a PhD in that area. Usually, the universities' websites under the information on student funding will have a section for international students, detailing the kinds of funding that is available to them. Depending on the university/individual departments, you might have an opportunity to participate in a research project, or being a Graduate Assistant. Some (potential) supervisors have also their own project funding, which at times is used to supplement the funding for students. In addition, when you request information from a university on the program you would like to apply to, usually the university will send you information on the kinds of funding you could be eligible for. Some universities, will also consider automatically all applicants for scholarships or some form of funding.

When it comes to finding work in Canada, a good start would be indeed.ca, which gathers most of the job postings found online, either on other job search sites, or companies' websites. If you are looking for jobs in the IT field, you will find IT opportunities across Canada, with hubs being Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal, Vancouver but also Guelph, Ontario, Kitchener-Waterloo, Ontario as well as Edmonton, Alberta. You could have a look at the kinds of jobs that are offered in these cities and then take it from there. You will need to have a valid work permit (at the very least) to be able to work in Canada. You will find more information on application procedures and requirements for work permits on the Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada website.

Please know however, due to legal and security issues, there is a limit on the kind of information we can provide you with. For example, we can't provide you with any advice on any processes on entering Canada (or any other country for that matter). One thing to do, in if you are looking at working in Canada and have questions, would be to contact the nearest Canadian High Commission, Embassy or Consulate near you. They should be able to provide you with the information you need to know and/or answer any questions that you might have on applications, etc.

If you have any specific questions on (for example) applying to becoming an international student, or need any further information, contact the educational institution that you would like to apply to and ask them to send you the information.

I am glad that you're moving on. I wish you all the best my friend. There is no need to apologize, as you see others have their own useful input for you too. I hope that they'll help you figure out how you can move safely to the west. I hope that you stay connected with your kids regardless of your moving decision.
    All the best.
