Today is my five year anniversary with my bf. First date I ever went on with a guy and here we are. Still feels like a dream.

Agh, so 2 months ago my husband had to had surgery for a disc herniation that was causing sciatica. If you have never heard of sciatica before, its some of the mos excruciating pain. He describes it as feeling like his whole side of his body will explode from the inside. Its nerve pain so its also harder to manage when compared muscular pain.

The surgery has a success rate of 95%. Its spine surgery, but its one of the best spine surgeries you can get.

We are now part of the lucky 5% of people who it did not work!! Yay!

So life kinda sucks a bit right now, but as always you just keep keeping on.

Only thing I'm grateful for is Obamacare right now. I don't have to worry about preexisting conditions if we ever need new healthcare, don't have to worry about money because there is an out of pocket maximum, and it will be fine because the medicine is covered for the most part.

Its really hard to not hate people who want to take this away from us. Who want to destroy Obamacare, but have no idea how to replace it. If you are one of those people, I hope you never have to experience this shit so you don't eat your own words.

Aw, congrats to you guys. Hope you both keep being happy!

:unamused: Given that I kind of need some nice weather to work, it can warm up any day now...

It's day 2 of 14 dog-sitting for my cousin while she is 1000 miles away trying to sell her house. I'm starting to wonder how much it would cost to ship the dogs to her. Whatever the cost, it would be worth it.

Trying to join groups and attending events to find "my people". Starting to realize that it's hard to expect warmth and actual kindness from people at work. Took me long enough.

Most retail managers don't even fully abide by the law, they say bc of the economy!

Guess they forgot to take sense of citizenship with them when they graduated school.

Yet another job possibility goes out the window because I don’t have my official transcripts. It was for a Disability Examiner job with the Social Security Administration. I got an email this morning saying she needed my transcript showing a conferred degree by May 9, or they can’t interview me. Transcripts won’t be available until May 14, so I’m fucked.

My grandma passed away yesterday so it's been rough. She had a super unexpected trip to the ER Wednesday night because of sudden and unexpected brain bleed so Wednesday night was spent there with my very large family. Yesterday morning it got worse so thankfully I had already checked in with my student teaching people that I wouldn't be in. We got every member of our very large family (and significant others) to the hospital to say our goodbyes. It was rough but having a big family helps. Today we got together at my aunt's for some mourning food. Monday's a viewing, services are on Tuesday. Honestly just kind of hard considering everything big happening soon: my graduation next week, my sister's wedding next month, and my cousin's wedding in a few months.

Also, it's helped shown how much my friends care. I spent some time with them last night and every one asked me how I was and gave me hugs as soon as they saw me. Same with the entire 7th grade team I've been working with for student teaching. My roommates though? Don't even have any clue that anything happened because fuck them.

In better news, I have an awards ceremony tomorrow where I'll be getting honored for graduating Magna Cum Laude and for getting Outstanding Senior in my college. And a teaching position just got announced today in my certification at my home district (which screws with my ideas of moving but...hype)!
