I'm thinking I just tried lsd for the first time and I'm having the time of my life. Tonight is a good night compared to the crappy day I've had!

Had top surgery on the 28th... still can’t believe it really happened! No one can bring me down right now!

Ps. Anyone know of some good scar treatment? :yum:

Pps. Definitely had to much caffeine today.

    People in Michigan are like:

"BuT wE dOn'T wAnT aNyMoRe SnOw!"

Well, now it's FLOODING. Roadways are being barricaded off because there's freaking virtual rivers running across them. People are calling into work because they can't get across the roads. All because the fifty/sixty degree temperatures have melted all the snow and combined with the rain. Is THAT what you stronzini wanted!?

But, you know, as long as you don't have to see any more snow.

I can imagine it was a good show - going by what I have seen from her live performances on YouTube. The only song that I like by her is her 1980s hit Locomotion. Other than that, I have never been able to connect with her other songs.

Same thing's happening here. It's been above 0*C all week, and the backroads have turned to mud. The max speed on gravel is typically 80kms, but I've had to do about 30-40kms for about 2-3 miles until I get to the highway without sliding around.

*Shares a debate about whether a certain character looks androgynous or not*

    Friend: What's androgynous?

    Me: *Explains it*

Friend: Why would I know what the word androgynous means? I don't get why you'd think I'd know that.

Me: Oh, I mean, it's not a bad word or anything.

Friend: BUT WHY WOULD I KNOW THAT? I'M CONFUSED.

Me: Well, I thought you might not. But now I've explained it.

Friend: YEAH, BUT WHY WOULD I KNOW ABOUT THIS?

    Me: Well you do now.

Friend: YEAH BUT WHY? I think that you're getting upset over nothing.

 I'm sorry I told you? Just wanted your opinion on if a certain character looked androgynous or not. I didn't mean anything by it. Also, I'm the one getting upset for no reason? What? I'm not upset about the debate, I just wanted to make conversation. Why am I even friends with this person? :confounded:

Seriously though. Recently he seems to have changed for the worst.

Around here, one of the major roadways had a fifty-foot section of it with water running across it like a river. They had it closed off when I was coming home from work. I had to take a freaking detour. On the way to work, I went across a section of road (mind you, I'm riding in a big-ass truck) and the waves that were kicked up by the truck were taller than the truck. The windshield looked like we were driving underwater.

But, you know, We DoN't WaNt aNyMoRe sNoW!

Usually don't double post, but I just thought of something interesting: how is it that almost every culture, thousands of years ago, tens of thousands of miles apart, on completely different continents, with minimal, if any, contact with any other culture, came up with dragons as part of their mythology, completely independent of each other? :astonished:

    @KevinK

You want to be really, really careful. What we know about brain development as it relates to drug use and addiction:

    1) There appears to be a very strong correlation between children whose parents had difficulties with bonding and attunement early in the child's life (on the one hand) and drug/alcohol addiction (on the other.) Given what you have described about your mother, I would suspect that she probably didn't attune particularly well to you as an infant. What happens when attunement is inadequate is that key neural pathways that impact mood don't develop properly, so when that child does a drug (or drinks) for the first time, s/he may feel normal for the first time, because the drug replaces the deficient neurotransmitter. But this is super dangerous, because drugs of abuse are very powerful in their stimulation of brain biochemistry, and thus the possibility for abuse and addiction is extraordinarily high.

    2) We absolutely know that there are really serious dangers to brain development and learning when teens and young adults (up to about 25) use alcohol or drugs, because much of the brain is still developing. Drugs interfere with how the brain becomes organized, and so the effects can be far more long lasting, or permanent. Additionally, teens progress to addiction much more quickly than adults.

    3) The very fact that the drug worked for you as an 'escape' and made you feel good makes it dangerous. Who wouldn't want to escape what doesn't feel good? But that mindset is the one that leads to addiction... and what we now know (relatively recent research) is that there appears to be a biochemical "switch" in the brain that essentially causes addiction, and once switched on, it is near impossible to switch off.

That said... one hit of LSD isn't going to make you an addict, and the nature of the way LSD works makes it not addictive physically. However, the danger for you is the psychological one... the fact you're saying 'you feel great' is going to lower your resistance to using LSD again, as well as lowering your resistance to trying other drugs.

Of course... this is your choice to make here. I can, however, tell you with a high degree of confidence that both your current home/family situation and your likely familial bond puts you at a high risk for drug abuse and addiction, and if it were me, I would avoid drugs and alcohol entirely given that risk. No one who ever starts using any drug (or cigarettes, or alcohol) plans on getting addicted.

In the USA, your car hits deer. In Soviet Russia Michigan, deer hits your car.

Me and my sister were on the way home from work earlier, and a deer ran headfirst into the side of our car. The deer survived; it was up and walking around when we went back to check, and I swear that damn thing was giving my sister the stinkeye.

    Guys!

My first ever boyfriend just got fucking married and they look so freaking cute.

Ah, the memories. You know how much I learned about myself and relationships from this dude? Went through so much shit together. We learned how to have a gay relationship, what to do and not to do, to handle parents trying to learn how to have gay boys, managing high school together, going to prom together, learning how to have sex etc. So much fondness for him.

I wish I could show you all pictures of how happy they look. Just feels like...we fucking made it. Like we survived and we both get to live our best lives now. Bah, I love it.
