    oh that's interesting! i actually noticed on the bottom of the page there was photo credits of some kind to a user, and i checked and maybe that was him (it was a member from 2008 but not an administrator or anything). there wasn't any description though so maybe i was wrong lol!!

    I remember reading about this couple, but I'm not sure I accurately remember the details. That said...from what I recall, I don't think those guys were a couple. Indeed, I think they might even have been (gasp!) straight.

    I also seem to recall the person credited was an ordinary member.

    Although do note: checking a profile now won't indicate if a person was EC staff. Once they step down, they are generally just indicated to be "Full Members" on their profile.

    Also they might have done it because it was part of the job. You see gay actors kiss women in movies. They presumably have no interest in kissing a woman, but it's part of the job of doing that particular movie.

    I hug all my male friends and it is not sexual at all. Most of my straight friends hug each other. It's a hug fest when we all get together even if we are just going out to dinner or have a great day surfing and want to bond a bit.

    Men should hug their male friends every chance they get. If feels good to touch another human and to share emotions.

    I believe there's a member's name credited to the photos. It's listed under them in small print. I don't think the member has been active for quite some time though.

    Although I have always wondered if they chose a random member and asked for permission to use their photos, or if it was a founder or early admin. I feel like they'd have to be significant somehow.

    I always thought they were the creators of the site, or contributed in some way. weird to me that they are just regular members, not that that is a bad thing at all.

    Wow. Time flies. So the photos themselves are 11+ years old, and Martin's "Well, the front page won't be around much longer" is now over 7 years old. ANd that is, actually, how long we have been talking about (but not doing much about) remodeling the content side of the site.

    The good news is, there's some movement on getting the new content side of the site going... so hopefully it won't be another 7 years. :slight_smile:

    Apparently their names are Kyle (blonde hair) and Jamie (dark hair). After following some links I found this thread where the person who took the pictures (TeeBee) talks about them and their photoshoot.     There were more pictures in that thread but they broke over the years I guess. Apparently after the ones on the homepage they stripped and let her paint their entire bodies for more pictures haha...

    In my defence, that post was before we knew how awful vBulletin had become in its later updates. Since then we toyed with moving to Invision, and then eventually moved to Xenforo. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

    But yeah, let this be a lesson in never listening to me. I created alternative facts long before Russia made it a popular thing. :ok_hand:
