I enjoy some aggressive rap. However most of the horrorcore isn't really my thing. My faveorite rapper is Necro. I'll watch the interesting looking video later!

Necro is pretty wild stuff haha, I’ve pretty much only listened to his “hits”. Any non hits you’d recommend? His discography is huge so it’s kinda hard to get started on.

The Miami Trap version in the video made me laugh... I didn't realize that was a style, but yea, everyone I know from Miami raps exactly like that haha. It makes sense now. The club one is on point too, every clubbing song sounds exactly the same.

Recently I've been on a UK Drill binge. I like the rapid fire hard as fuck delivery

All of them! Some of my favorites are No Remorse, Garbage Bag '94, Evil Shit, and Murder Obscene. Dunno what you mean by hits unless it's his Sadist Hitz compilation

Yeah, the lyrics are a little bit dark like Cannibal Corpse. Necro's a fan of Death Metal which is my favorite type of music. Anyway the guy is insanely skilled and there's a beauty in the brutality

To be honest, i dont really have a specific style i listen to or avoid. i am however much more into "new wave" stuff, if that counts. i was big into scarlxrd for a while, as i do like sort of heavy delivery stuff with loud beats. but he got too repetitive for me. even though i personally lean towards new wave stuff, never been too excited about trap music. favourite artist right now has to be zillakami because he puts out the genre of rap that i really enjoy. hard to pinpoint what it is exactly, but he has a lot of energy and usually hard and loud beats which i like as mentioned before. i used to be really into chill rap, but thats totally switched now. also appreciated when artists draw inspiration from punk music and bands, as i find i think that sounds pretty good too. and as i used to be big into band music, its nice to see it make a tiny comeback, as thats probably all its going to get for a long time, sadly.

(now realizing you guys probably have no idea who i am talking about... oh well  )

i, on the contrary, tend to avoid new wave, unless it's underground rappers like chris webby or tom macdonald. i dislike them because they tend not to have any real substance, it's just about drugs, liquor, clothes, and girls. it doesn't really seem to mean anything, especially when it is just repeated over a beat with a few "unh"s in between. it all feels like they're just trying to write a check, instead of really writing a song. which is why i like rappers like hopsin, tech, tom macdonald, and chris webby, because they seem to really speak to the listener, not the consumer, in us.

wow, i actually never thought about it that way and you have a really good point. i do also enjoy rap music with meaning, nothing specifically on that front that i can think of however. i also do believe that things do not need to specifically have meaning to be good. if i like the way a song sounds, even if the lyrics make me feel braindead, i will still like the song. but i agree. in my opinion rap music nowadays needs to have something different to be actually enjoyable. a edge per say. if its the same drugs/money/women stuff, the artist or the beat needs to stand out on its own. which is where a tonne of songs dont hit the mark. (and still become popular, go figure)

more underground or niche stuff is definitely where it is at when it comes to rap. it seems when people get popular all the fame gets to their head and they drone on constantly about the same stuff everyone else does. which is sad. there have been a lot of creative rappers over the years that didnt get near as much fame as some basic popular stuff that comes from artists with lil, ybn, or something of that sort in their name. new wave rappers seem to be so full of themselves and have massive egos nowadays, which is something that bothers me personally.

I use this site on my phone. Don't know how to upload songs to EC, though I can upload to Facebook fine!!

    Anyway

    My favourite Rap song is.....
    Dr Dre featuring Eminem....
    Called....forgot about Dre explicit version.

    And
    Eminem......Superman explicit version...

I know I shouldn't promote bad language but their use of words and rap is pure genious......and I see this as art.

    Please check them out!
