I just wanted to share this store cause it totally shocked me. I was sitting and writing about some of my feelings of depression, anxiety and gender dysphoria to just get it out of my system. I do this occasionally to try and feel better. My dad walked up and just started talking to me. My dad knows nothing about my transness or bisexuality but I have over the years defended and talked about the issues with him. He was always slightly homophobic but nothing too bad. Anyway my dad was talking about the new board member of the company we work for and how he was learning more about him. He tells me I need to listen to his speech and just leaves. He doesn't usually do this kind of thing. So I listen and it turn out this guy is an amazing gay activist and is super inspirational. He was talking about how it is okay and important to be out and how it benefits the company and his story of coming out at home and at work. This man is amazing and listening to this especially by someone we work for was super powerful and made me feel much better. And it came from my dad when I was feeling depressed made me almost believe in a higher power or that the universe maybe gives a shit about me. I don't know but it made my day. Here is the like to the video if you wanted to listen
whynotboth.gif Honestly, I love when these kinds of things happen. Being positively surprised is oh so rare in this wacky world.
Coincidence or universe is purely up to you to decide It could also be possible that your dad knows, or has a hint of suspicion, but doesn't know how to talk about it. And this was his way to kind of nudge you that he knows and supports you.
I would take it as a good sign irregardless of the cause; it was nice of him to share that video and I'd likely take it as a hint, but intention aside it was a really nice gesture.
