i'm constantly finding myself overthinking about my sexual orientation and i found myself trying so hard to stop associating sexual orientation with feelings of shame, disgust, weakness.
i tried so hard but when i accepted my sexuality i felt like someone different, i keep connecting the stereotypes to my own identity and constantly doubt myself and question whether i'm gay or not, it is distracting me and making me unhappy, i also come from a religious background and a strict society, but despite isolating myself from everyone, i still feel like i'm being delusional and mentally ill because i'm extremely open minded.

I think the isolation is going to make you feel that way. The thing that finally put all that shame to bed for me was knowing gay people, a lot of gay people. When you see LGBT people just living normal lives--grocery shopping, going to the beach, at work--most of your notions of what "gay people" are like kind of melt away.

I think it's tough especially when you live in a place that isn't accepting but you have to try and retrain your brain in the way it associates things.

I’d suggest normalizing same-sex relationships in your mind by watching gay themed movies/tv shows, listening to music by queer artists, watch coming out videos on youtube, ...

All these thing really helped me to feel less alone, isolated and abnormal
