I've gotta go for a little bit, but it was nice talking with you. I might be on later before I turn in for the night, though. May I ask what time zone you're in? It's 10:30 pm where I am.

I'm an awkward flirter, and I don't even flirt often. I smile a lot, thin my voice, and get touchy(on the shoulder or hair) if I'm daring. I'd never know exactly whether the other person got my intention.

Only if I allready genuinely like them and am not just attracted too. Otherwise I'm as brazen and shameless as it comes.

Example(just atrattrac): I go into a smoke/ record shop and i am greeted by two gruff looking guys behind the counter. I start parusing there fine record selection and down the last ilse I see this georgous guy sitting there organizing the records. I strutted up to him and I say damn baby... Whythey hiding pretty little thing such as yaself off ln a corner. He giggled and blushed. We talked music and smoke he checked me out wrote # on my receipt.

No problem wasn't nervous never felt stupid

Ex(when I like them) I go on a date with a guy I think is good looking and we share a ton in common should be peice of cake to flirt with. I can up have no I deal what to say I feel so nervous and embarrassed I gradually lose ability to speak English

Thanks! Just wanted to know what kind of time difference there was. Didn't know if I was talking with someone who was close to my time or was like 6 hours off. Didn't wanna be creepy, I just thought it might make chatting a little easier.

If I'm so into someone I start flirting on the spot, I'm too focused on them to worry about how I look. I only wish I could be so confident offline!

What was so weird about that though? That alone could pass as a platonic compliment, straight girls say that to eachother. I don't know why she was weirded out since that was a harmless compliment.

I don't know. She just seemed surprised. The thing is I was kinda working with the assumption based on her appearance she might be gay and it's possible I was wrong and she was straight. Maybe she could tell I didn't mean it as a platonic compliment.

This is going to sound awful but she and this girl entered together, and I don't know they maybe seemed more like a couple than friends. I thought it was more of a sure thing she might be into chicks so I waited forever for the other girl to leave, and then went for it. I regretted it after. I felt so silly.

Straight girls can be flirty so I was not sure if she was gay or not.

I know people's clothes and hair are not a good indication of their sexuality but she was really cute in my defense. Maybe that's why she was upset? Because she's straight but is tired of people assuming she isn't?

Depending on my mood I'd give the same reaction tbh. If I'm feeling introverted and just want to shop in peace and a stranger hits me with a compliment I'd be so blindsided or nervous I'd probably give a weird expression. So it might not be a "she's straight thing".

Could be, it's hard to tell. I think I have good "gaydar" but I think I'm probably wrong most of the time and I just don't talk to people long enough to find out. The only time I'm pretty sure I was right was when I was at the pet store a few days ago and there were two butch young women with short hair who seemed to be in a relationship and were buying cat toys. Pretty sure they were gay. But straight girls can be really confusing. Flirting and complimenting is mixed up so often, most of the time to our own embarrassment.

Ugh I know. It sucks. I feel bad about relying on stereotypes too. But she had short hair, kinda boyish clothes. What can I say I like tomboys.

Were you embarrassed you misjudged her sexuality? Or how she felt about your flirting?
