Spoilers to follow if you haven't seen it.

I just watched Solo and thought it was pretty good. I enjoyed the scene where Han and Chewie first meet and watching the friendship form between them.

There were a few moments where I felt myself dozing off, though. Gambling scenes and card games are incredibly boring to watch (Casino Royale zzzzzzzzzz) and I hate to say it, but I found Emilia Clark very dull. They should have got Natalie Dormer to play the part of Kira.

I liked Thandie Newton's character and the little 4 armed monkey guy. Both characters were bumped off too soon.

Glad to see Darth Maul is still kicking around.

I thought Solo was ok. Not great, but a good popcorn flick and a nice origin story for Han, Chewie and Lando.

I agree that Emilia Clarke wasn't as engaging as she usually is in her other performances. I chalk it up to the direction and the script. Most of the cast of the Prequel Trilogy were superb actors and actresses in their own right, but the bad scripts and poor direction really impacted their ability to act in those films.

It was great seeing Maul again. I remember some folks in the theater being confused as to why he's still alive. For those who haven't watched the Clone Wars animated series Maul survived his "death" in Episode I through sheer determination and the Dark Side. Hope we can see more of him in future installments.

It's funny that people are confused by Darth Maul being alive. Even without watching Clone Wars, I can imagine him surviving quite easily. It is a sci fi movie, after all. General Grievous, anybody? He was basically a bunch of organs stuffed inside a robot.
