    Thank you everyone. I hoping to find some friends to talk to. I’ve always have known that I’m a lesbian. But I’ve been to nervous to talk about it with other lesbians. I’m facing an unwelcoming environment. There is so much I don’t know, but I feel that we are all in the same boat. I seen that the support groups online are very few. I hope to make some great friends and to finally show my lesbian side to the world. Thank You

    welcome @Rainbow100 i think you’ve come to the right place! i would suggest using the search tool to find threads you may relate to or simply browsing around a bit. there are some good threads about finding friends, lists of lgbtq or lesbian podcasts and more... and if you don’t see one that fits, start one!

    When you say there is so much you don't know, do you mean about being a lesbian? Or the lesbian world? Or something else?

    I think I felt a lot like you when I first figured out I was gay, I had this heart stopping moment when I was like ok so I like girls but how do I be a lesbian, it was like someone had forgotten to give me the handbook. Over time though I've realised there is no right or wrong way to be gay (or straight or bi etc etc) what you actually have to do is just be you and then you will be great.

    Hello, Yes exactly! I’ve known since I was a young child. I had my first time with a women during my teenage years. It was a bad experience. Also my family thinks it’s all a phase. So I’m scared to find a women and to be in a relationship. I recently found a great friend who made me feel like it’s ok to be myself and to look for people that I can relate to. Even though I came out at 28, I feel like this is my true coming out. So, I’m new to pretty much aspect of being a lesbian and relationships etc. other than this support group, I have no one that is a lesbian in my life. I’m so glad I found this group. Thank you!!

    No worries. I think the lesbian world and relationships are what you make them, some people like to dive head first into the lesbian scene in their local town and that's great if that's what you want. My coming out was also in my mid 20's but unlike you I had only just figured it out (honestly I've know idea how it took me so long to figure it out) since coming out my life hasn't changed that much, sure I'm openly out to everyone but almost all of my friends are straight and the same ones I had before I came out. I have a long term girlfriend but not much else is different. This is your journey so it can take whichever path you want it to. I'm sorry your family think it's a phase but I'm sure when they see it stick around and ultimately they see you very happily with a woman they will come around to accepting it.
    When you think about finding a relationship what do you think it is that most scares you?

    Hmm, That’s a good guestion. I think my feelings that if I found a women that I couldn’t bring her around my family. Because of everyone thinking it’s a phase. I still live at home and I have autism. I’m also caring for my mother who is battling cancer. I also had major depression that leaves me stuck in my bedroom. My friend that I talk to is straight and it’s hard to ask her guestion about everything that lesbian go through. That’s why I decided to find a support group. I would love to find a girlfriend and be in a relationship. But I need to understand the life and myself better first. I just want to thank everyone, I truly feel a warm welcome here!
